Gotta be in it to win it
True or False?

* defending Apple does not make one an Apple fanboy
* making positive statements about Android-related tech does not make one a Google fanboy
* using facts(financial statements, media articles citing sales figures) is not fanboy-behavior
* owning an Apple product does not make you a worshiper of Steve Jobs
* using shades of grey instead of glib black/white statements does enrage fanboys who prefer the dichotomy
* wishing for Apple's competitors to "up their game" is a good thing.
* Apple having a monopoly on good products is not great for the consumer.

I personally think that all of these things go on the various tech forums. I've encountered bitter anger at simply stating facts.

BTW - Apple is NOT perfect. They never were, perfection is unattainable. They simply make better products as the money-spending public sees it as evidence by sales. I have issues with iOS, Apple TV and other Apple-related things. But I bet I have had even more with Windows/Android over the years.

My hero in tech is Steve Wozniack. First he was a brilliant engineer. Second, he is a lover of all tech and criticizes Apple when they deserve it. He wants all the best tech no matter who it comes from which I consider a great view on the world.

Let's see
1. true
2. true
3. true
4. true
5. false
6. true
7. false (nobody is forcing anybody to buy any product and competition is the key here)

they surely have built some legend with the huge amount of money they have spent on marketing.

That reflects well in their customer service also.
Yep, the best customer service in the industry, IMO.

I myself still have an iPad 2. And it's battery it still excellent. I blame upgrading iOS over the years for the slight decline in battery life.

One ipad 2 on 9.2.1 and the other ipad 2 on 9.3b7. Hopefully tomorrow all idevices will be on 9.3.

A lot of people who are ,by years at least, classed as adults behave like schoolkids fighting over which Games console is best.
"Hey,don't judge my choices"
"Samdung are cr@p"

You need to take a look in the mirror and sort yourselves out. How anybody can get upset because someone doesn't like your choice of phone, is beyond me.

What is interesting back then BEFORE iOS vs Android defined this decade between Apple vs Google and Samsung, there really WASN'T a mobile OS war at all. Nobody was saying Symbian vs BlackBerry OS vs Windows Mobile. Just like before, nobody was popularizing the term ecosystem for tech until Apple did it. The ecosystem was almost accidental to them by trying to combat music piracy with iTunes. Then App Store in 2008 and more retail stores came out, and it just snowballed from there.

I remember 15-25 years ago, the only "war" in technology were between video game consoles ignited by different magazines like NEXT Generation before the Internet became mainstream. Nobody gave a damn about cell phones as much as the last decade or so. They didn't really take off in popularity until cameras were added circa 2002-2003 which was also close to the same time iPods were becoming popular than Macs and social networks like Friendster and MySpace were born.

But most people on the Internet complain about ANYTHING and Apple is such a polarizing figure the way Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers were during their heyday. People love them and hate them with a passion. So there is a comparison to anything Apple all the time which ignites heated debates. I bet if iOS or iPhone didn't exist, the debate between Android vs Windows Phone wouldn't be as heated coming from either sides.

Back in 1995-2005, nobody ever talked about ecosystems and smartphone / cell phone / mobile OS heated debates like today. All I read about back in 1995 was Bill Gates being the richest man in the world. I actually didn't know much of Steve Jobs yet. Then we had the video game console wars. Back in just 2005 before iPhone would come out two years later, there were no heated debates like Nokia vs RIM vs Motorola vs anyone else at the time. The most popular product from Apple was an mp3 player that was playing videos for the first time that year. Phones were just phones. Mobile OSes were just mobile OSes that nobody gave a damn about like apps, software updates, or if the UI stutters. Times have changed.

It isn't just Apple or even technology. People make very heavy emotional investments in all types of choices or selections. Ever hear of Ford vs. Chevy?

Go to any forum dedicated to a brand and you'll see the same types of arguments you see hear, people getting spun up over the silliest of things.
