Isn't that how all controversial questions are? I guess in the end it all gets chalked up to taste.

Nowhere... since it's the same argument over and over like a very annoying and boring merry-go-round.

Well isn't this just dandy?

dpannlka:
I don't see how one hp glossy screen is anything to judge by. You may see it differently, and you may be correct in your statement that the reflections on a glossy screen are terribly noticable and distracting. I still cannot fathom any grounds for your insistence that matte screens have a better image quality than glossy. There is no common "solid" ground for comparison of the two. One looks better, the other can be used more effectively around bright lights. In my eyes, that is where this argument should end. It is the purchaser's preference.

P.S.
To the lover of large bold (and multicoloured) text:
That is very annoying. Large letters only detract from any credibility you have, and leave me questioning your maturity: Whether I agree with you or not; which I do.

Seems to me this thread has pretty much died.

It would be cool if MBPs and MBs started coming out with OLED screens. I think that would make everyone happy. Assuming they could be introduced at an acceptable price point of course. I believe my 15" LCD screen was if not the first, one of the first Apple LCD's. That's 6 years ago. We need some new technology soon! Put CRT in its so very deep grave where it belongs once and for all!
When blacks are actually black, and screens three times brighter, maybe either matte screens will be pointless, or the difference between them will not be noticable?
Here's to progress!
P.S. I support Nuclear Power all the way.
