Gah! Plymouth
format your HD before you give it to them, if they notice stolen things i believe they have to notify the proper authorities

but also formatting your HD may fix the problems unless you have already done that

Sorry about the spelling mistakes but will apple get pissed at me if I have a bunch of downloaded music(limewire) on my computer?

Maybe....maybe not. Get your facts together and present them in a firm, commanding way. Tell them the machine is frustrating to use with the way you're using it. Don't back down; insist that they resolve the issue and take the machine back. If that should happen, you could spring the ol' "How about I pay the difference and get a dual 2.5" :p trick on them.

The other option is have them repair the unit, eBay the sucker and put out the difference for what you want. :)

Didn't I tell you a week ago about 10.4.3? I'm sorry but I really can't see Apple giving you a new machine, especially if new Macs are released with 10.4.3 this week, and .3 is the fix you need. It sucks but Apple can be right bastards sometimes with their official fixes. ;)

IMHO you left it way too late.

Well I talked to the guy there and he said that if the update does not fix the problem, then I could do the difference thingy. I could just tell them it doesn't work right?

I just got it today but I am 14 and look at my sig. Though it came 2 days late no thanks to UPS!   . Envy me? As for your problem G5unit, you could only try to talk them into getting you a 2.0ghz.

Dude, I'm 13, and I've called the apple people a few hundred times. How old are you? Much more importantly, how computer savvy are you? If your dad is more computer savvy than you, I would let him talk. I happen to be the opposite with my dad, so I do both of our talking. Most Importantly, what is any kid doing with a dual 2.3 G5 tower? People wonder what I am doing with a 12" iBook, and the 2.3 costs at least double that? I'm not attacking you in any way, just curious. Don't answer if you don't want to, what a kid with a $2,500+ comp.?

If by some miracle the 10.4.3 release fixes your problem, then you can sell
what you have without feeling like you've burdened someone with a defective machine. Then buy the fastest machine you can afford.

I think there's more to it and the logic board is the problem.

If you go for a NEW updated PowerMac, you need to keep in mind that your
current RAM and ATI card will need to be compatible.

You may be better off buying a 2.3 dually on clearance.

The word from TS says that the new machines will be using DDR2 DIMMS
and no word about PCI-e

Yeh I would just return the ram to 4allmemory(bought it there) or sell it here. I would definatly like a duel core machinr for under 200 then I would trade in. Remember, this is all just ffor faster fps in games, better multitasking, and video performence(Adobe stuff). I also need it to run the 24 inch screen ima gettin. I have a job that pays 400 bucks a month plus other stuff like babysitting and taking ou the trash for my nieghbor. Along with making movies for some parents yet I don't know how mush I can make off that yet.

Whoops! Triple post(Mods can make it not count towards my post count) Anyways, since 10.4.3 didn't fix the problem, I need to get a new PM. Sooo, how should I call them up? Tell them I have tried everything and I NEED to trade up for a better one? I would like some help.

EDIT: Update fixes the problem.
