Heaven or Hell
I have had the iPhone on AT&T for the last 2 years and
am fed up with poor reception anywhere i go.

I have also used mostly Macbook Pros for a few years,
but just bought an Acer laptop with Windows 7 for $499.

Awesome computer! Also just picked up a Verizon USB EV-DO 3G
wireless card. Works flawlessly. Even tethering my iphone
to my laptop was Painful to say the least. Extremely slow speeds.
This Verizon stick flies!

Anyways, I am getting sick of all things Mac and wanted let people 'know that there are better alternatives coming out now.
I am excited about getting an Android Phone soon and dumping the
Closed Proprietary iPhone System.
I tried the MyTouch and that seemed very nice, but there are better
Android Phones coming out soon.

Guys, get ready to dump Apple!

Uh, only those who are unhappy are believe there are better products, would "dump Apple."

I don't want to run Windows 7, so I'll stick with my Macs. I wouldn't touch an Acer laptop if you paid me. Literally.

Android may be where I want it to be in a year or two, but right now it isn't, so I'll stick with my iPhone. My AT&T reception is terrific. I've found tethering to be very easy. I'm glad you enjoy your Verizon wireless card, but I'm sure it wasn't free.

You speak as if there have never been other options, but there have always been other options. Android 2.0 and the Droid line of phones may be great, but the consumer will have the final say. Don't forget that Android isn't new, WebOS isn't new, netbooks aren't new--and all of them are simply playing catch-up to what Apple has done to the market. That should tell you something. Unfortunately, if history repeats, all of these devices/software will be doing that again this Summer when another iPhone comes out.

I hope these companies do keep innovating so that Apple is forced to keep making groundbreaking products. More quality choices is better for the marketplace, no matter what products you enjoy.

I've seen the light so goodbye all you losers...

Just go quietly, shut the door behind you, and good luck out there. But if/when you come back, we reserve the right to laugh you out of MacRumors.

Well

Peace out to you. I never understand the I'm leaving threads. If your not happy sell your iPhone go to verizon and good luck. Besides spaz had a huge leaving iPhone and he is still here. Any way good luck.

Well, it's mostly AT&T that sucks.
I do love my Mac Computers and i'll keep them.
But I have to say Windows 7 is pretty good.

I agree that Windows 7 looks really good. I am actually really glad it came out for a number of reasons and hopefully it will force Apple to step it up a notch.

They were really relishing the days of Vista where all they had to do was exist and people would switch over but now with Windows 7, there is actually darn good competition out there and that is how products improve. They can't let Windows Vista do the work for them anymore by sucking so much people look to Macs ;)

The awesome thing is that your Mac computers you love CAN RUN WINDOWS!!

Shocking, I know, but the best computer to run Windows on is probably a Mac.

Umm... No

Leave quietly, son. Goodbye. Best luck.

(I don't understand these "I'm leaving" threads, either)

Yup, I've got Snow Leopard and Win 7 on my MacBook, and it runs fine. My iPhone tethered gives me around 1.5mbps (which is almost twice as fast as safari runs on the iPhone ). I had vzw, which was slow in comparison, and I will accept almost 2mbps anyday on a phone

Well yes and no. Build quality-wise the best computer to run Windows? Yes.

However, the drivers in bootcamp are not fully optimized obviously and battery life is inferior as well as heat produced compared to a regular PC laptop that comes native with Windows. If I only wanted Windows, I would get a PC laptop from another manufacturer but if you want the best of both worlds, then hands down a Mac is the way to go.

The only computer that I ever bought that was truly a "lemon" was an Acer. Also, for what it's worth, I gave Windows 7 a try. Once again I found myself having to wait for all kinds of updates to take place and every time I booted AV had to update also. Nothing had really changed from when I was running Windows XP. I deleted the bootcamp partition and am back happy with OS X.

Bye, bye.

To the OP: Ignore all those fanboys. Do what you want, and neve look back. I'm tired of the iPhone too, and will be switching to Android ASAP when my contract ends. You know why? I'm tied of living in this closed world. I want to explore open source like I've done with Ubuntu. Ubuntu may not have the polish that 10.5/10.6 has, but you know what? It's free and runs on almost anything reasonable. Almost all popular orgrams are free and it offers more

customizability than I could ever imagine. Do what you want, and never look back.

Because when these people come to

the same realization, we'll be one step ahead of them.

Hopefully you see no need to be on the phone and surf the wed at the same time.

Good luck with that and are you selling you phone ?

Peopla are not so much upset with you leaving for Verizon but because you felt the need to come here and announce that.

Just go already, no need to let us know.

There is a whole other world of iPhones out there and some of them will be better than the iPhone depending upon your needs and some wont. Also, your service quality will depend u[on your location and not the carrier. Even Varizon has areas where reception sucks. Just keep that in mind. There is no perfect carrier.

Yeah let the man (or woman) leave in peace. No need to diss on the decision to leave and bad mouth the other network or phone he or she wants even if it is a piece of junk, buggy, cheap, dime-a-dozen android clone-oops

sorry :) happy journey
