Academics with iPad Pro: How do you keep track of your texts?

I got the trial version of Bookends. Giving it a try now. Looking good so far. I don't really plan to write academic papers on the iPad, but read and annotate. For this use, it should integrate with a reference manager on the mac. I'll see how it plays out with Bookends.
