My cable modem will keep chugging along even during the black out because I have 2 UPS units (550 V and 900V) to keep my Macs, ACDs, Lacies/Maxters, and cable modem/WiFi running. The black out on the internet is one of the things that tick me off as I usually keep the internet radio on through my old Ti PB via iTune at all times, while I am on internet with my PBs or iBook.

My cable company has been good so far as I only experienced a few downtimes to this day (I am with them more than 5 years).

If your DSL is slacking off, you should fire them and switch over to the cable service if it is available. Maybe your phone line is somewhat old?

It just went out AGAIN, and my dad doesn't care.

Does anyone else in the Hartford, CT area have this problem?

Am in West Hartford at the moment, and Comcast is up.

Small consolation, but every reason to switch to the lesser of two evils ...

Too bad they won't let me get it at my house.
