I believe they can place a 3.5" drive in that gargantuan, so it really isn't that impressive.

7.4 - 7.8 kg? Who wants to carry that in their backpack? You probably have to have your own power station to use it more than 30 minutes.

with the emphasis for 'hard core gaming' so the games party demon... now... do they fight at these things? may be when you get mad at someone playing wow you can smash their head in with that in real life?? hahaha

i think they should make a waterproof version for the drinks and food involved...

It comes with a built-in subwoofer! :p

Oh wait I'm not joking.... :(

Oh **** that ****!

How much does this damn thing cost? $4000?

For whatever reason, the Acer store won't work for me. :( Never has either. Both on Comcast and BellSouth I get a page cannot be displayed when navigating to USA.

To be honest, I wouldn't want anything bigger than my 15" MBP. Eve n 17" seems too big to me. I like the 15" for taking around with me to different offices but for use when working on a desk and (but will cart it around) and a 13" MB for use on the train, bus, car, whatever. Nothing else needed, not a 17" and DEFINITELY not a 20"!

Yeah I don't need or want anything bigger than this 17". It's pretty darn big as it is. Luckily with it having the super wide/short screen the chassis is still easily manageable. Not to mention only being ~6 lbs make it a true portable. I don't know about a 20" lappy that weighs 17 lbs. I'm sure I could find better uses for it than using it as a computer.

I think it's a fine idea for LANners. I hate having to lug my tower + giganto 20-inch CRT every time there's a LAN party around here. A rig WITH a 20-inch LCD that, in total, weighs half as much as my current monitor is a nice thing.

Its actually for self conscious people who think they need to lose weight, so rather then carrying around a 6lb Mac, they are going to carry around the extra 17lbs in hopes that it will help them lose weight.

They call that thing a "laptop"? Hope you all have big thighs.....

Calling such a monster a "laptop" is like me walking around with a white MacBook and earphones plugged into it, and calling the thing an iPod. :p

I saw this in a local magazine few days ago. This thing weighs more than the 17" iMac. BTW, why would they bother putting in two 2.5" HDD's instead of 1 3.5" HDD. Largest 2.5" available is 200 GB. Largest 3.5" is 750...:p
