Anyone had this problem recently and overcome it. Phoned O2 and they said it was common and to just keep an trying every 20 minutes.

Thanks

Are you upgrading from an existing phone account? If so, make sure to have the old phone off. Otherwise, you may have just chosen a time when iTunes is in heavy use.

Spoke to O2 again and got a guy who knew a little more. He said it was an issue with apple and they are trying to sort it. Best thing to do he said was to wait a couple of hours and try again.

Just want to use my iPhone:(

i am, this is abit of a joke now really. Let me know what they say.

I will keep you informed. Your right, it is getting to be a bit of a joke now. Apparently some people can activate their phones while some unlucky ones cannot. If I cant get it activated this weekend then the iPhone is going back to O2 on monday.

Let me know if you get yours activated as well.

Cheers

I'm having the same problem. Bought my 16GB yesterday and haven't been able to use it yet! I've been trying to activate since last night. More than annoying.

Have just got off the phone from O2 support, they've told me that there is currently a known issue with their servers which they're working on now. They said to try to activate again in 2-3 hours

Did they say it was a problem with the o2 server or apples.

It must be a big problem because they were trying to sort it from 6pm yesterday

They didn't say....... it was all suitably vague......

If I'd known that there were all these problems I probably wouldn't have gone and spent over 300 quid on something I can't even use!

If it's not sorted out by tonight mine will be going back to the shop tomorrow.

Absolute joke

I totally agree. Mine is going back first thing tomorrow morning. Looks like this has been a problem for over 24 hrs already - it could go on for days...

I think it could go on for a little while longer at least the activation page on itunes shows something a little more use than the error message thats was presented.

O2 phoned again 10 minutes ago to take the serial number, IEMI number and the ICCID number to pass onto apple.

I asked if they had been given any indication by apple of how long it would be and he said they originally said 24hrs but that has obviously passed now.

Looks like it, no indication as to when it'll be working again.....

I'm out of the country for the next month so mine's going back tomorrow morning if they haven't fixed it. Right pain in the a**e!
