Which location setting? Like an USA iCloud account?

No, just your “region” in settings > general. It has to be United States. Australia and UK are apparently not available in 9.0 either, only 9.1.

Wow, thanks for the tip! I actually got to keep the News app once I switched back to Sweden. Didn't expect that!

My news app installed but never loads. It tells me it is unavailable. Will have to fresh install, I suppose. (iphone 6)

Very nice! Now if someone will tell Apple to flip the switch on the Apple News Format so I can MAKE A CHANNEL LOOK PRETTY. Our RSS feeds don't even deliver photos because the company we use is apparently stupid. Looking forward to other good uses for news like MR. This basically gives a lot of news and info sites an app without the pain of developing an actual app.

Is there anyway to set up news notifications from specific favourites? I would like a notification when a new MR story is published.

Good to know ! Have you tried rebooting your phone ? I read somewhere that it might leave then

OK , so I'm curious so I tried switching back to France and I lost my News app . I then went back to US , rebooted my phone and it's back !!!!

I haven't tried that. I rarely reboot my iPad, and frankly I have no intention of doing so, in fear of the News app going away.
