Apple News is nice - but all of the stories are very out dated for me.

The most recent MacRumors story is from yesterday.... And most news sites are 17+ hours old.

Anyone else having this issue?

I just did this however in order to see the plus sign you need to set up news first and then the link above will work.

US, UK and Australia only, for some reason. Maybe Apple thinks that the rest of the world only read mexican.

But hey… it doesn't crash my >$1000 smart phone, so everything's "Great", isn't it Tim? Marco was right. watchOS -oops, News in insignificant countries -oops.

There's an awful lot of US-only stuff from Apple these days. Even simple things like the payment plan.

Can you tell News was the only feature I was looking forward to?

Is there anyway to set up news notifications from specific favourites? I would like a notification when a new MR story is published.

I don't know, but in the Settings app News has its own notifications settings, and I have them turned on. It would be awesome if we could choose which news organizations to get push notifications from. If I could get them from the NY Times I would probably not need their app as much anymore.

Suddenly, I just started having this issue with MacRumors and 9to5Mac...

I literally was just about to come here to report the same thing - all my channels are working just fine, except for 9to5Mac and Macrumors. Literally just those two are displaying outdated stories. It's so weird.

I'm not sure what you mean. But being in France , for me it changed to miles instead of kilometers which was an easy fixe in settings for maps.
Can't fixe the Health setting as far as I know , so now height and weight are in lb & ft.
In Language & Region you can change the iPhone language to get the local news in the spotlight page . I just looked , there is English for Australia ;-)
I hope this helped .

I'm in Canada and on iOS 9.1 public beta, I switched the regional settings to USA and got the News app working fine. But once I change the region back to Canada, the News app was removed. Any ideas?

Yes, this is something what hurts me very much these days. In many countries Siri and its features (sports, apps integration, reservations, movie info, dictionary, calculations) is useless, Map's features (flyover, transit, 3d buildings, traffic, business rev. and photos, nearby) are useless, News app is useless, keyboard predictive input is useless, spotlight suggestions are useless, CarPlay is useless, iTunes TV shows are useless, Apple Pay is useless...

Really - in many countries iOS devices should be sold with discounts! (while they are often much more expensive than in the US).

Set my region to US, tried it and was glad that it was gone after I reverted to Germany. Just another preinstalled app I'll never use.

I don't believe anyone forces you to buy one.
