Tried disabling the privacy feature (deleting the list and any rules). Didn't help.

The only thing that helps and doesn't have this problem is using split tunnel VPN instead of full

Frankly, this sounds like an iOS bug.

avatar, can you explain the technical difference between split and full tunnel mode? Why does split tunner can get bypassed when connectivity is bad? How does full tunnel prevents this bypassing?

It's not that we're doing anything. The main difference is how iOS works with these tunnels. It can choose to bypass the split-tunnel, but not the full-tunnel.

Avator Adguard Pro does not work when tethering from my iPhone to my iPad Pro. Please help. I see ads in apps on my iPad that I normally don't see when connected to my Wifi home network.

This normally happens in the car or out and about.

So you see them on your iPad Pro that is connected to your iPhone, right?

Questions:

1. What's in your advanced settings - Split-tunnel or Full-tunnel mode?
2. Do you have any privacy subscriptions added or do you rely just on AG DNS?

Depends on what you need:)

"Encrypted" means that your ISP cannot snoop on your DNS traffic which is generally a good thing. However, some ISP like T-Mobile rely on using their own DNS servers and the internet simply does not work when you use a custom one.

Also, AG Pro lets you add custom subscriptions which will block ads locally right on your device, and it works whichever DNS you choose.

Does Adguard Pro still blocks in-app ads? I was using the older version which had on-device VPN based ad blocking (prior to version 2.0 which Apple forced them to change in iOS11). Recently updated to the latest version and it doesn't block in-app ads when it's turned on.
Any guidance on how to use the new version for in-app ad blocking would be very helpful.

Yes, I enabled DNS filter: Default system filter does not block ads nor the Adguard filter.
It doesn't even block ads in the News app, previously it used to.

Thanks ... that was kind of hidden feature, but it still doesn't block ads in some apps.
Also, in Google News app, it leaves a big white box with the title Advertisement

Before adding this subscription under Privacy Settings, I was only using this: DNS Setting -> Adguard Default, and then turning the Status On. There is also an option of System Default under DNS Settings, but it didn't bloxk any in-app ads.

I Don't notice any difference after Adding this subscription.. as in some apps (not YouTube and Facebook) ads are still displayed and in Google News the big white box.

Is this subscription different from Content Blocker filters selected in AdGuard and what's the purpose of this subscription?
Is this AdGuard SDN filter meant for blocking in-app ads whereas other filters are only for Safari.

Also what's the difference between Half-Tunnel and Full-Tunnel and which one to choose, pros cons of both? There is a brief description, but it doesn't explain much for deciding which one to choose.

I had been using AdGuard's pre-iOS 11 VPN-based on-device ad blocking and it worked pretty well and was straight forward. Still trying to figure out different options in the latest version.

Apple should of never banned AdGuard.

It will hurt them in the long run. Even if they are trying to improve the default Safari filters.

All these years here and I never saw this thread. I've been a long paid user of AdGuard Pro - love it and use it on all my devices.
