Ugh no it's talking about how has the iPad stood up to the pencil. This thread is about me purchasing the pencil forum police.

You were asking about how well the iPad held up to Pencil use:

jus curious. Will pencil cause scratches on screen. I paid $950 n want to be careful.

In answer to your original question, the iPad glass is very durable without a screen protector. There are artists that have over 1,000 hours of Apple Pencil use with no discernible wear and tear. It is always a good idea to clean your glass and Apple Pencil tip every couple of days. Some quick wipes with a soft clean microfiber cloth is all that’s needed. For more persistent dirty spots, just dampen a portion of the microfiber cloth with water only and use that first, followed up by a dry section of the microfiber cloth. This will keep things worry-free for you.

If you choose to use a screen protector, keep in mind that you will eventually see blemishes on the screen protector because nearly all of them are not as durable as the glass that Apple uses.

Hope this helps. Cheers.

Just discovered a scratch on my iPad Pro 10.5 inch, I have only had the iPad for a week, it hasn’t even left the house.....basically has stayed on my desk. I used the pencil a couple of times for some sketching, not sure how it got there. I am a little bit taken back as I have had the iPad Pro 12.9” with absolutely no problems, made a Genius Bar appointment to see what they can do....just seems crazy if I already found a scratch a week in, I will primarily be using this for art so a little bit concerned how the iPad will hold up! My only other thought is, could the scratch have been there out of the box?

I've never used any screen protector for any apple devices specially iPad Pro، Since It's my main device for movies/TV shows, I don't want to have a fake screen, I just want to enjoy its brightness and pretty promotion screen, I prefer to clean the screen with a microfiber cloth of Philips:

Even don't use its liquid. Besides i will get new leather sleeve soon cause Smart Keyboard/Cover will damage your device after a while.

I've used the iPad Pro nearly every day to sketch and draw in Procreate. No screen protector, just the Supcase Unicorn Beetle heavy duty case. After countless hundreds of hours drawing (let alone using normally to read and play a few games) the screen is still flawless. Not one scratch that I can find. And I've looked. I just wipe it off every now and then with a damp cloth (water). Keep in mind I'm careful, too. I'm not taking it to the beach and getting sand around it, or eating over it dropping crumbs on it.

Will see what the Apple Store says, I just am concerned about the longevity of the screen when using the Apple Pencil consistently. Other then that the 10.5" iPad is amazing!
