Its really nice to see a post about something good amongst all of the recent complaints and demanding posts.

I do believe there are many more people with good things to say than those with bad things.

Good to hear the OP has a positive view point and shared it. :)

Thanks, considering before I've had to make due with an iPod Touch tethered to a Samsung phone (and all the problems that such a piecemeal solution entailed), this has been a VERY welcome relief. :D

I should've switched to the Verizon iPhone before SXSW... I'm here in Austin, and AT&T SUCKS....

I'm here with my Verizon iPhone now, and it is PWNING this town. Haha! :D

Might be a different story once the tradeshow starts, but it has been full of WIN since last Thursday. In fact my friend who is still on AT&T has lost a few of my texts and IMs while I've been getting them nice and clean in return. He actually had to use my iPhone to text someone for a meetup because he was not getting crap from anyone, despite AT&T showing 4-5 bars.

And yet he still brags about how AT&T is so much faster than my Verizon. Good Lord.

Coming from multiple Droids and Android devices over the last year, without a doubt I am glad to have my ViP. I had three generations of iPhones on AT&T but couldn't take the crappy service in my area any longer. Been fooling around with Android ever since on Verizon. Every Android device I rooted and could never get the phone to be quite the experience of iOS. Android may be for the geeky at heart, but it can't compete with the polished iOS in reliability.

Amen!

I've had mine for about 3 weeks, as well (it's birthday is Feb. 23), and I haven't put it down yet. I use it for everything, everywhere.
Needless to say, I had to send my wife this ecard:

The Verizon iPhone 4's 67 hours of battery life for audio is impressive. 27 hours more than my AT&T one. That is better than many dedicated mp3 players.

Glad you liked it

I didn't and had to port my number back because it sucked so bad.

Coming from AT&T and switching to vz was like a downgrade for me..

I could not handle the slow data speeds and the not being able to use both voice and data.

But what killed it was conference call limitations. Signal in my area was also worse than AT&T

I tried to like it.

If I remember right I think it's because they built more towers here in the past year as part of the anticipation of the load from incoming iPhone users. I haven't played with my iPhone in Manhattan yet, but did do so in Boston for 5 days. Only downside was the GPS kept jumping around then. I don't think the GPS antenna is as sensitive as I would have liked unfortunately, but as long as it's accurate enough for road navigation and pedestrian use I won't complain.

I wouldn't worry about using your iPhone in Manhattan. I use mine 60 floors up in Midtown Manhattan (mostly streaming Pandora while I'm in my cubicle), never had a problem with data or voice quality.

Even on the train, or walking around, I have yet to have a single problem with Verizon in Manhattan (or Brooklyn for that matter).

Awesome, I'll be in Manhattan soon enough so it's good to know that won't be an issue.

When AT&T works, GSM > CDMA. When it WORKS.

It sounds like AT&T is still the better solution for you as long as your local service is good enough and you don't travel much.

I expect that will no longer be the case once LTE goes mainstream for Verizon though. And an iPhone 5. :D

I upgraded my wife's line to the verizon iphone Thursday. So far in comparing it to my droid I give it mixed reviews. It is definitely a more polished phone. By the time my upgrade gets here next year I should know which os I want to go with.
