After using the new iPad Pro, everything else is painful.

It's so blatant from the very first second - everything is running at a level so much more smooth than any other device out there (gaming monitors excluded, of course). 120hz is the real deal. I'd read that some compare it to Retina vs non-Retina for Apple displays, and the comparison is incredibly apt.

My. Goodness. Rotation is so smooth, scrolling is unbelievable etc. With my 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9 right next to the second-gen, it's painful to use the original Pro anymore...

Great stuff. Great, great stuff. Well done, Apple.

Isn't that the case with almost every new iPad or iPhone? It will be faster and snappier than anything released before, until the next iOS update?

Hi, I'm from Seattle, too! I just downloaded a few games just to test everything. One of them was sonic the hedgehog and the graphics just blows my mind. So pretty!

With all due respect, I have no idea how you can't see it. I literally noticed it with the first turning on of the screen and seeing the opening animation... well, animate.

Here's an easy way to spot the difference if you can compare a new pro with any previous gen- open up some,thing text heavy, even the MR home page and try to read while scroll. If you don't see a difference then I'd suggest a vision check.

Oh...well I don't read and scroll, so maybe that's it. For me it's a non factor since I'm not noticing it.
It still renders web pages faster than my m3 SP4 and my Note pro 12.2 so I'll probably keep it.

I've always been able to have my eyes adjust to most everything. I have my mini 4 and was using it while using the new guy and it was fine, wasn't as smooth, but I wasn't getting dizzy or having an issue with it. Maybe I'm just weird cause I can watch a 4" iPhone and enjoy it the same as a 65" TV. I'll notice the difference obviously but I won't care about if one had better color, size, or refresh rates. Again maybe I'm just a freak. ;)

Even scrolling down this thread while reading the text is an absolute revelation. I can't go back. Apple has spoiled me for every other display device, OLED or otherwise.

If Plex updates their app to support 24p playback, I'll be in heaven.

I was expecting ProMotion to be the killer feature that would make me give in and finally upgrade.

It's not. Not for me at least. My dad just got his 10.5" Pro today. I definitely notice it and I would love to have it, but even after playing on his new iPad for a bit and going back to mine, I didn't feel like I was really missing out on anything spectacular.

The 10.5 is really nice, but I think I'm going to stick with my iPad Air 2 for another year or two. By the time I finally do upgrade, I'm hoping I get that same "wow" factor I got when I upgraded from an iPad 3 to my iPad Air 2. At least my iPad Air 2 still performs wonderfully after 2.5 years, unlike the iPad 3 did.

Pro-motion is great.

I've been using a 100hz 34 inch UltraWide monitor for quite some months already now, so i've felt the experience already. On a smaller screen such as an iPhone, it isn't as noticable for me. But on bigger panels, anything sub ~ 100/120hz feels somewhat choppy now.

Look at how spoiled we are already, it's crazy :)

And this is the other side of the demographic I am seeing. That these new Pro's are excellent, but not enough to warrant an upgrade for some. Which, I see your view point. I would say the main features that others want to see for a major upgrade are either micro LED/OLED display, 3D Touch, haptic home button, and Bluetooth 5.0.

Honestly, a more drastic new design would have been enough to get me to upgrade. The new iPad's bezels are a lot smaller, but not enough to look like an entirely new product. If Apple could have reduced the top and bottom bezels a lot more to where they were almost the same size all the way around, I would have bought one.

The same, I think I might get the new iPad Pro 10.5 next year as my iPad Air 2 is fine and still a powerful and a BEAST of a tablet and I am very happy with the Air 2 at the moment. :)

So most probably next year I will get the new iPad Pro 10.5 or the 2nd gen/next version iPad Pro 10.5. :D:D
