My laminated iPads are usually covered in fingerprint haze anyway. The oleophobic coating seems to be not as effective on laminated/anti-reflective so that kinda evens out with the reflections on non-laminated. :p
Yeah, my iPad Pro 11 has an iCarez matte - but the mini 5, while I had it, yeah... it .... I was wiping it a lot and trying to touch the edge to turn pages.

Subject is Air 3 vs IPad 8. Air 2 became very slow so here too I would prefer the iPad 8 over the Air 2 which I still own.

Can you help me with something. Does the Air 3 come with the glossy screen like Air 2 or the matte/anti-reflective coating screen similar to the Air 4?

Air 2, Air 3 and Air 4 all list the same "Antireflective coating" in their specs...

Besides the risk of the white spot it got a very good screen and yes with anti reflective coating.

I don't know about the air 3 and 4, but even just the following iPad after the air 2, the pro 9.7, was much less reflective than the air 2, which in turn was less reflective than the air 1.
As mentioned, less reflectivity does not mean less fingerprints in my experience, so the main reason why I put a matte protector in all my iPad is fingerprints. The thing with screen protector is that if you pick the wrong brand it's going to impact the screen quality, but if you pick a good brand it's going to be as good as without, less the reflections and fingerprints (and the hyped brands like paperlike are not necessarily the best in this regard...)

Yeah most of my friends/coworker's screen protectors look horrifying. But most people don't care about that I guess? I read on my devices for long periods of time, I can't have something reflecting large amounts of light making reading difficult. Yep, matte screen protector here too (icarez) - I put it on my iPhone too. My wife saw the results and asked me to get them for her iPad/iPhone as well. Then mother in law, lol. Now they can't imagine life without that clarity.
