I had a horrible issue with RAM on the same AIR M1 8GB : the display frame rate would drop and even the mouse movement would become laggy (like 20 fps). This was mostly obvious with 2 users logged in.

Horrible experience. I was almost going to trade it for a 16GB model, even though all that Air was doing was email and web…

However, I haven't reproduce that issue for 1-2 weeks now, so maybe it's fixed ? ?

Have had the same issue. Was thinking about faulty GPU. I heard about the issue especially for 2 or more users on a Mac. So far clean reinstall helped me - also my problem would show itself with MS Teams running(i mean MS Teams will start this mess) and it continues even if i close it until restart.

Exactly. Sometimes just closing the screen and re-opening would temporarily fix the issue. It seems directly related to RAM consumption, as closing apps would usually improve the "refresh rate" of the display.

I hope it definitely fixed.

Have you reproduced the issue recently?

Not yet - probably because I am using only web MS Teams instead of a desktop version this time.
Maybe clean install helped with some GPU drivers.

Conclusion: downgraded from latest Monterey to Big Sur 11.2.3, ram pressure is green again and computer self cleans clogged swap amounts. I also didn't see any lags so far. But the best one - just double clicked on my ios apps and installed in 1 sec without extra movements.
This sounds great – a question, though. Will I be able to use Migration Assistant to restore everything BUT the system, either from a CCC clone or Time Machine Monterey backup? Or does it mean restoring everything bit by bit, manually? (I know I won't be able to retain the Monterey TM backup, wondering if I can restore the Applications, Data, etc. to a Big Sur Mac without discovering that I have Monterey again.)

That is a great question! People say that you will not be able to use the clone backup restore unless it was done on BigSur earlier. I am not really proficient in this topic to be honest.
I have 2TB iCloud with preset upload of desktop/documents/downloads folders. Basically when I signed into iCloud again after reinstall, I just got back all my data in those folders. The only thing left is to install couple softwares and reenter license keys that i got back from my email inbox. Mostly I use cloud subscriptions(work provided) so I had to download software desktop clients and login into my accounts online to activate. Since it is cloud subscription - all my premade presets/settings got restored back(for example once imported 2 years ago paid presets into Lightroom, appeared again without doing anything).
