What iOS version on AppleTV?

I have a 2012 MacBook Air with ML and a 2nd Gen Apple TV. But I can't get my MacBook to see that there is an AppleTV on this network... the box with the triangle shows up in the menubar but I cannot select anything but "Open Display Preferences..."

Any help?
