AirPod connection - slow

notice lately it takes 15-30 sec from when I put one or both of my AirPods in my ear, to hear the connection sound and see the icon on my phone. Any idea why the process is so slow?

Bluetooth pairing issues. Delete them from the list on your phone and pair them back.

I get that once in awhile. Or, one will pair and the other will take awhile.
