AirPods 2 - In Store availability

Hi all, sorry if this has been answered before but I did a search and couldn’t find a real answer.

When will the AirPods 2 be available in store for purchase? I’d rather buy in store than online and am willing to go at opening on the 1st day they arrive to maximize my chances of finding one available...

Release date is the 26th, but it’ll be first come, first served. Get there early if you want them.

As soon as Apple store receives them and updates the stock inventory, it should be available then, which can be any time of the day. Keep checking.

Not at the moment. It’s possible they turn on store pickup when they get stock, but I doubt it.

Wishful thinking...... I think apple stores will have a lot of these available in stock and wont sell as fast due to the price point, and the fact that people wont justify to upgrade.

There's no way there's going to be a repeat of the scarcity of the Airpods 1 with these. It will be available in Apple's retail stores "soon".

Perhaps it will take longer for Bestbuy, perhaps not.

I dropped by an Apple Store yesterday and asked when they are getting any. I was told next week. Sounds like they might not have much or any in-store availability the first week.

Edit: ‘Hey Siri’ seems to be pretty good, even with decent background noise. When I’m using the airpods, the HomePod seems to hand off instantly to the Airpods if I ask Siri a question - so that’s pretty cool.

I work at Best Buy and we’ve been sold out of AirPods 1 for months. Every shipment we get is gone within minutes of opening. I’m expecting the same for AirPods 2.

In stock at Lincoln Park store in Chicago, IL. Seems to be plenty in stock, though the wireless ones were downstairs off the main floor. Very different than 2016 launch....

Good to hear.. How do you get thru at an local apple store and actually speak to a sales rep at the store? I always get routed to someone in the 800 customer service area.
