Has anyone used theses and the pros? How are the hard plastic tips vs silicon? Asking so I can berate a cheap friend that got them claiming better fit than the pros but we all know he couldn't justify spending a bit more.
They fit in the ear differently. For me, the plastic originally felt much better than the silicon. However, having decided to go one size smaller than the "test" recommendation, the silicon is my preferred choice and provides a better seal. This is subjective of course.

Damn that's a pretty good deal. I bought them when they were $159.99. Should have waited a bit. These are good for those who feel pressure when using sealed earbuds. I hate that style of earbuds and prefer these open ones any day.
Yeah, me too. I wish I could use sealed earbuds but my ears say no. I think I'm gonna love these. GREAT DEAL!

I’m so tempted by this deal, but I can’t justify it at this point because I have the APP2. I prefer open earbuds, but the XS tip has solved the fit problems I had with the APP1.

There are also foam tips for APP1/APP2 that are more comfortable and a lot more slip proof then the OEM silicone ear tips. Find them at Amazon and elsewhere. ADV Foam tips , Comply Foam Tips
I used for many years foam tips. They are a good choice for those who don't do well with silicon. There are some great 3rd party makers of foam tips out there.

I’m done with the sealing annoyance of the Pros. Enough is enough. I’m embracing the new.

Edit: I withdraw my statement. The design was absolutely horrible and barely stayed in my ears. I ran— no, sprinted back to my APP2’s until such time as their next best thing comes out.

Yes, I own both. For me they are very significantly more comfortable to wear than my APP2. The noise cancellation is obviously not as good, but it is still surprisingly good. I use both on and off, but if I go away and take only one pair I choose to the take the 4s and not my APP2s.

For $30 more you can get the pro. As an owner of both, I would never own the non-pro models again. They are so uncomfortable in the ear and they fall out much more easily.
And for me the reverse is true, which goes to show our ears are not the same - obviously. I think for most the price difference would not be a factor.

FYI Amazon USA price is back up to $168.99 for the AirPod 4 with ANC.
