Some lunatics on eBay will overpay for used AirPods. I recently sold my 1st gen for 87% of what I originally paid for them!!

Will put that towards the updated ones released next month.

And yet there is no proof of ones being released next month or the past 6 months either. Good luck waiting

Well this thread isn’t making me happy, since I JUST ordered a pair (due to arrive tomorrow). I’ve been wanting them for a while, and putting it off hoping to hold out for the new ones, but I just really need some for walking.

They do have great resale on eBay, so maybe if the new ones offer significantly better battery life, I’ll sell these off in a couple/few months (when new ones are released), and grab me a new pair.

I think people need to educate themselves on batteries and how they work. They will lose their charges eventually and if you’re using them everyday then it is to be expected in a year or two.

You’re absolutely right. And honestly, I’ve never had one of my Apple items’ batteries go bad on me (probably because I’m always upgrading and nothing has a chance to go bad). I’m not hard on my devices. I highly doubt I’ll use the Airpods every single day, and if I did, then it’d be worth it to me to buy new ones in a couple years.

I have two pair as I use them for 8+ hours a day 5 days a week. they get about 2 hours now but worse is they both have really low volume. I was having trouble hearing some podcasts. so I finally broke down and bought two more. If they were not so practical especially when wearing hearing protection I would use something else.

After owning airpods for about two years and loving them, I decided I wasn’t going to pay another $160 every two years. There are a lot of decent wireless headphones out now. I had heard about sabbat x12 pros on a audiophile website and how good they were for the price. I picked up a pair for $60 (and sometimes they go as low as $45) on amazon and couldn’t be happier. I’ve only owned them for two weeks, so time will tell about durability. The x12 fit in your ear just like AirPods but don’t have the mic hanging down. They are small and compact, and the sound is very similar to AirPods. They make another version that are the inear style, but I haven’t tried those. If I can at least get a year out of them, I’ll be happy. As much as I liked AirPods, I don’t think they are worth $160 anymore.

replacement VS old one

(Yes Apple those cheap airheads have only replaced the left one)

I too have noticed the drop in battery life. Mine are almost a year old I think. Hopefully version 2 has a much improved battery life. The price is steep but being able to use a pair of AirPods between my iPad, MBP, and iPhone make it invaluable.
