Any thoughts about using AirPods Max with PS5 using the lightning to 3.5mm cable - connecting to the controller? hmm...
that's my assumption as well.... maybe stack up with the seinnheiser gaming headsets? If I’m not using the mic I would assume these would sound better than the Pulse 3D headset?
I think the issue is the DAC in the Dualsense controller is a bit weak. I have Sennheiser GSP 500's I'd want to use but I don't know if the controller has the power to drive them properly.that's my assumption as well.... maybe stack up with the seinnheiser gaming headsets?
The PS5 controller has a built in mic. The headphones don't need one. And I'm assuming these will sound really good since they'll be low ohm for sure and will easily be powered by the Dualsense controller.I’d just buy a specific PS5 pair
They wont be able to do chat and I guess the 5.1/7.1 will be specific to Apple devices only.
That’s helpful, I may start doing this then. There’s no audio delay or anything like that?Just tried them via the 3.5mm to lightning and the sound is actually really good! I normally use an Arctis Wireless Pro, and I'm using the optical out from my TV and the airpods are a LOT louder and cleaner sounding. I'm not sure if the microphone will work for game chat, but if it does, I would immediately replace and use the Airpods only. I'm quite surprised by that.
Not that I noticed, but I had audio delay with the SteelSeries because of the optical running from the TV to the DAC, and I bypassed that using my settings in LG OLED. Connected to controller there were no issues. I seriously doubt my friends in chat would be able to hear me well, given Apple headphones previous history, but if they can, like I said, I'd dump the SteelSeries right away. That’s helpful, I may start doing this then. I watched a video where someone used the lightning to 3.5mm adapter (not the new cable) on his MBP and it didn’t work. Can someone who now have these try them out plugged into a console controller please.
Preferably with the Lightning to 3.5mm adapter and also a TRRS audio cable.
I have this (pictured) to try with the lightning to 3.5mm cable on the console controllers, problem is I don't really want to spend £35 on the cable if I don't decide to keep the APM. Ooo, they'll take returns on the cable too I presume?dang... well at least it sounds good. just the mic then...
Yes they do, any headphones that support TRRS 3.5mm will work with the PS5 Dualsense controller. I'll be using my Sennheiser GSP500 with my PS5 once it arrives. No headphones that plug into the controller can use the headphone mic. You need the PS5 for that.
