So what happens if you connect Pulse 3D wireless and APM wired to controller. Would both headphones get the sound?

I got the official cable today but did not got any sound trough my controller. Cable works great with a iPod so looks to be the PS5 or settings.

is there something I have to do other than choosing audio output trough controller?

Only thing I had to do was connect it to controller and it automatically switched to headphones for output

You cannot use any lightning adapter or cable but the official ones for $35. They are bidirectional. I'm sure someone will make one that has a high quality mic built in eventually.

Connected my APM via that cable to my PS4 controller with no issues. PS5 should be no different. You have to enable the sound in the console settings if it’s off by default.

I use the official cable on my PS5 controller with APM’s and it sounds brilliant.

As said, you do need to turn it on in the settings, but well worth the effort.

Well, I would say the issue is the wire. I do have APM and Pulse 3D and I prefer to use Pulse 3D for PS5. I don't want any wires hanging around me.

Has anyone tried an audio splitter with a separate mic? So AirPods max in one with Apple cable and small mic in the other connected to controller? Be about £50 to get it working in theory...

Nope, the only cable with a 3.5mm jack (at the moment) that works with the APM is the official Apple cable.

Can't you use the Dualsense controller as a Mic? It has one built in. Not very elegant but should work.

This is correct, the controller has a built-in mic that can be used for chat. No clue how good it sounds but it should get you by, unless the APM somehow disable the controller Mic but I can't imagine you aren't able to change the mic yourself to the controller one.
