Did I say anything different?
We have different opinions on this and I was agreeing with the user who shares my opinion

You quoted him as "Correct" meaning that his opinion was the correct one. Again, you don't even own them so I'm not sure why you are even in here to refute the sound of a device you haven't even heard.

like I said I'm pretty sure the vast majority of better sound is just that you can hear what the little speakers are putting out better with ANC eliminating the noise pollution of your environment.

Completely agree. That really isn’t new to AirPods but rather this is just the first set of AirPods that offer the in ear design and all that passive isolation that benefits the sound quality

He is correct - in my opinion - yes
We can disagree. It’s ok.

fair enough... i had the AirPods 1, the Powerbeats Pro, and now the AirPods Pro. Your right its just my opinion that AirPods Pro are very similar to AirPods 1 and have less bass than Powerbeats Pro... but that doesn't mean I'm wrong ;-)

I never said you were wrong. I said you were giving your opinion.

My first impressions after a couple of hours of switching between the Airpod Pros and my Sony WF-1000xm3 (and I'll probably repeat post this is a few places so apologies if you've already read):

The APPs being half the size of the WFs in both earpiece and case is a plus.

The stem button on the APP is more fiddly than the touch sensor on the WF.

The ANC may actually be better than the WFS when no sound is playing. I may not have the perfect bud seal on the Sonys but they feel right and stay in place. With a TV on and playing no sound the APP are definitely cutting more noise.

The sound is thicker with more bass on the Sonys but that is their bag as was to be expected. The APP are going to be good enough for most people, certainly better sounding than the standard Airpods but this may just be down to design and isolation. To be up front the standard airpods don't work for me as they don't stay in my ear and let in too much external noise.

They are more comfortable than the Sonys because they sit in my ear while the Sonys are held in place by the rubber tip being shoved in your ear canal.

Not bothered about Siri, taking calls or wireless case. These are for music and escaping the world.

Hate the white slick plastic. It get's greasy just touching it. Also white plastic marks easily and eventually yellows in time. Sony win here with mat black plastics.

I'm impressed with the APP. It's leaving me with the feeling I may sell my Sonys. But the Sony WF-1000XM3 cost me £166 while the APP is £250. I know which is the smarter keep but first impressions are great.

The best noise cancelling and most comfortable earphones I've ever used are the Bose QC30s but they fall apart due to poor construction. I have high hopes for Bose next ANC earbuds.

I have some Nuraloops coming in December and will definitely try the upcoming Amazon buds. Always chasing the grail of earphones. Until then I think I could be happy with the APPs.

Ok so people are going to hate me. But I have to say this. I’m having a few issues. Not only with sound, but a jittery connection and the features not working.

The bass isn’t that MUCH better than the AirPods 1st gen. The only thing that makes these better and make people go wow (and it makes me wow too is the transparency from NC to Transparency) (and I came in with a level head and I’m not one to follow or get excited with the hype) but they don’t sound that much better than the 1st gen. I have a very tight seal in my ear.

Very slight bass increase, which is actually kind of disappointing. The soundstage isn’t better. Because they’re not considered open back headphones anymore, which is to be expected. However they’re very wide for being semi closed. This is with the biggest eartip (usually offering more bass). Now if there was a way to turn off that ”true tune” 200 times a second thing or whatever Apple is using, it could potentially override their sound profile they’re using to cut out some of this bass and actually put these headphones to their full potential. Or release an EQ or options in settings for these would make these MUCH better.

Tweaked the bass in Spotify and they don’t sound overly harsh, which is a good sign. The ANC is almost as good as Quiet Comfort 25s from Bose which is really good for earbuds. If you actually switch from off to noise cancelling (and not transparency) there’s not a massive difference. It works well but it’s automatically adjusting.

Few issues I’m experiencing in terms of “glitches”

1.) The headphones when I keep switching between settings, eventually stop working. I have to turn off Bluetooth. Put the headphones back in the case - and reapply them back in my ear to get the noise cancelling and transparency to switch back and forth to work again.

2.) During music playback (Only noticed with Spotify so far) there’s a jitter approximately every 9-10 seconds in playback and it’s a very slightly 10ms cutout and cuts back in. I haven’t reset my phone but hopefully I’m not the only with this issue and the one above. This hasn’t happened with Apple Music yet.

You kind of glossed over the phone calls portion of the two. The Sony’s are completely useless for phone calls. They are absolutely terrible. The APP are superior in every way here.

You are also glossing over working out with the two. The Sony’s are a joke to work out in due to their size and lack of water resistance. The APP again crush them here. The Sony’s are useless as workout headphones.

Sound is subjective and I find the APP superior to the Sony’s.

I don’t know why you even bothered mentioning the Bose QC30. They are over the ear and of course are going to be more comfortable. And from a Noise Cancelling standpoint the Sony 1000XM3 kill the Bose QC 30 and 35 and even the Bose 700.

I feel like your reply is a little hostile because of your clear preference for the APP. I’ll try and address your criticisms of my opinion:

I mentioned calls: “Not bothered about Siri, taking calls or wireless case. These are for music and escaping the world.”

I don’t work out in earbuds so had no reason to mention. I also didn’t mention which pocket I keep them in, what music I listen to, if I stick them in my ears or my nostrils.....

Bose QC30s are in ear earphones so check your research. And I can’t agree that Sony earbuds have better ANC than Bose yet. Guess we just gotta disagree on that.

Not hostile, just mentioning some things that I thought you missed. No I’ll will intended. My bad on the QC30’s. I was thinking of the QC 35’s.

I won't comment on sound quality but my subway commute is much more pleasant now. The sound of the tracks are pretty much gone compared to the AP2. This means I can enjoy my music at a reasonable level instead of focusing on cranking up the volume as much as possible.

I have the sony’s and will never be using them again. They’re so much heavier and not as comfy in ear for me. I also find the new pro’s sound way better than the previous iterations, and the case size difference is barely noticeable as well. Home run for me!
