I had a $5 coupon for eBay so I bought these. Should hold me until something better comes out and it cost $4.00 for me. The ESR will be going back to Amazon.

Do you have it already?

Cases for AirPods are very popular in Asia. I got one mainly for the cute cartoon characters, but protecting the white plastic from scratching is more important cause I always throw it in my backpack and it would be easily scuffed up.
Wow where can we get ASIAN market AirPod case? Those are neat with personality.

ESR have some faux leather cases available. Not sure of the quality though

I’m not going near anything designed by ESR. Without a cutout in the rear for the hinge the lid will pop off when you open it.

I do think that there are a lot of cases without a hinge due to the wireless charging strip... The one from the same manufacturers as my original Airpods case (which had a hinge) just released theirs without a hinge :/

I'm new to AirPods and their cases. What keeps the lid cover attached to the case with the hinge-less design?

Nothing, with the case being 2 pieces, the lid piece consistently slides off the Airpods case. It is a pain. I'd send my ESR case back but I threw away the packaging and it's not worth the time.

I use Scotch Tape on the NOMAD lid for my AirPods Gen 1. Also using Scotch Tape on the ESR lid for my AirPods Pro.

But isn't this the design that's been used for the gen1/2 for years now? I've always wondered what kept the lid cover piece in place?

Send a message to ESR and they will refund you. They messaged me after my one star review, issued a refund, and told me not to send them back.

Not sure about the quality but just ordered this one. Should be here 11/15. I’m keeping the silicone ESR case, crappy as it is, to just protect the AirPods until this new one arrives.

Taking one more chance on ESR with this one, that is now available...Looks to be a thin, two piece design unlike their other one, that’s thick and had the horrible connected design where the top would pop off...should have it tomorrow and I’ll give an update then...

I have that case in black and have had no issues with the top coming off yet. You are correct, it's thin and two pieces. I actually quite like it because it adds zero bulk.

Another bunch of extremely negative reviews for that item, and it looks like it has been pulled from Amazon- shows as currently unavailable.
I wound up never receiving the case as Amazon botched the delivery (said the package was undeliverable and tracking shows it was sent to OH when my shipping address is in NYC). They refunded my money and cancelled the order. Guess that was a good thing based on the reviews.

purchased a cheap one off eBay to hold me over. Waiting for the Spigen early December.

I did however see a Airpod Gen 2 case from Spigen and bought it. The quality is superb. also picked up the shields from Spigen's site.

I mainly use these now for work calls and the Pro for daily/gym use.

I pulled the trigger on a cheap leather case from Ebay for my Pro's. Just to bound me over until some quality cases arrive from the key suppliers.
