I’ve been using the beta for a while, not fixed on mine.

Doubt it will ever get fixed, I wouldn’t pin your hopes on 14.6 lol!

Today a new firmware came out. Has it been fixed now? Somebody tested it?

Currently got my APP on charge, but I will certainly check if they have updated to the new firmware when charged, and if they have I will see if it solves this annoying issue.

My settings survived the night since new firmware. Need to give it a few days yet though, I'd sometimes get maybe 24-36 hours without settings loss, then for it to lose them between uses 30 minutes apart.

Mine updated to the new firmware yesterday evening. But too soon to say whether the issue was fixed with the new firmware. I'll be using my AirPods Pro in a couple of days time in the gym, so I will check the settings then.

Really Apple :) I am really loosing hope in Apple. So disappointing really... So what is the end of the story next year there will be some AirPods Pro 2 and guess what if u want it to work and use ur AirPods Pro for speaking without amplifying the background noise x 100 buy the new shiny AirPods Pro 2 for 350 bucks

Not that at I expected any different result but after I updated my iPhone to iOS 14.5, I reset & re-paired my AirPods Pro - case open, etc. Changed the left ear press&hold setting to Siri

next day the setting was back to default. So this bug persists

Well maybe Apple look deeper into it if everybody keeps exchanging their AirPods

Yea, no. They will fix it whenever they get around to it, on their own time schedule. Just like everything else they do and break. They long ago stopped caring what we really wanted and needed.

ok the issue with losing the settings maybe a software issue. But the thing that the background noise gets amplified and u cannot use the AirPods pro to communicate seems to me a hardware issue

Yeah, in my experience they won’t replace based on the settings issue.

I jumped through loads of hoops a while back, mentioned earlier in the thread. Ages speaking to genius over the phone, installed a logging profile blah blah. Never any suggestion they’d replace.

The background noise is different, that’s more critical.

Repeating myself, but I’m resigned to them never fixing it, I’m used to changing settings now /shrug

It stinks of course given the price of these things, but they’re not unusable or anything (unlike the other issues).

Same problem.

Seems we are using the wrong settings. The only correct settings are the defaults provided by the tyrants at apple. They just break it to work only how they want. Kind of like the current admin.

it seems the settings are wrong from the iPhone. If I click in Mac OS in the bluetooth settings on the AirPods the pressing settings are saved but on the iPhone they are always reset back to default

Hold the duck on and wait a second… It srsly seems as if the issue’s fixed for me with iOS 14.6 and macOS 11.4!

At risk of jinxing things….

I hadn’t used my AirPods Pro for a few weeks and had given up hoping this bug would be fixed.

But seeing TD540’s report and having been on 14.6 since it’s release, in the past week I’ve been using the AirPods and checking the settings. I can happily report the settings now seem to be properly remembered.

Fingers crossed it stays that way…

Whisper it, but I also think it’s fixed. Been a few weeks now and they’ve not lost settings once.
