Thank you so much. I got these today and they seal so much better than the stock tips. They don't start to slowly slide out after a few minutes and the noise cancellation is better than before. I'm going to order some different colors now that I know that these are a solid option.

I’m going to give them a whirl. Been using memory foam tips and they’re good but they wear out fast.

The UK silicone adapters I mentioned a few pages back fall out just as much as the Apple ones. Wouldn’t recommend.

I’m going to try the ones recommended from the US.

Best still are the Comply tips with the adapters.

Spoke with an Apple engineer recently and he pointed out that the stock Apple tips have “micro exhaust ports” that allow airflow, and that the Airpods are specially tuned to take account of this. So if you’re buying 3rd-party tips, especially these questionable 3D printed ones on eBay, you may be changing the intended frequency response.

Fair point and I have noticed this however if they constantly slip out the better bass is pointless. For me it’s a sacrifice worth making.

I just received my Airpods yesterday and could only get a green light on the left side. Have the ppl that bought these got green lights on the noise canceling?

I'm one of the folks for whom the APP don't stay in, have tried each size tip - they all fall out (especially bad when I'm eating).

I ended up making my own foam "donuts" out of cheap memory foam earplugs we use for shooting (these cost pennies). The earplugs I used are similar to these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SPGP1C9

I pretty much following the instructions at this video:
. The video shows a fancy tool for punching the hole, I just used a paper hole-punch and it worked just fine. APP stay in now :)

Finally received the foam tips I ordered off Ebay a couple of weeks ago. Here is the link to my exact purchase: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Memory-Foam-Replacement-Ear-Tips-Buds-For-Apple-Airpods-Pro-Airpods-3-Headphones/274140499698?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&var=574261147090&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

And...

Well I am surprised to report, they are nice. The main requirement for me was an ear wax guard. I want to keep my pods speaker grill clean. And they do have a membrane protecting the speaker. They appear to be just the plastic tip covered with a thin foam covering. I ordered the six pack. All six are the same size. I think they are similar to the medium tips. In the photo below, I placed a small Apple tip in there for comparison. If you have ever used Comply foam tips, these are not the same foam material. With the Comply foam, if you squeeze it, it compresses and then slowly expands. This is not that type of foam. These have a thin layer of foam. I'm trying to think of something to compare it to, but can’t think of what. It doesn't stay compressed when squeezed. They feel comfortable in my ears and the sound seems exactly the same as the standard tips. They connect and snap on the pods fine and seem to stay connected. They also fit perfectly in the case. I only just received them so my opinion may change, but for now I have to say I am happy with them. Thumbs up from me. Kind of strange, they came in this box.

edit: thinking about it, they’re not memory foam just foam. i like them just the same. hope comply eventually makes some.

Got this as well. DIY with comply foam previously but already torn in few days time. The silicone ones don't have a good fit. Only these sponge foams have a good fit.

Guys, I’ve tried different solutions (symbios and an ultra cheap DYI solution) but no way the original tips are the most convenient solution so far.

With any mod I feel the tips too sturdy and the feeling is not pleasant.

The ANC improve a bit, but the lightness feeling you have with the original ear tips has no rivals.

a few posts up somebody else mentioned this, but just for another recommendation, i bought these anti slip silicone tips https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B081V7ZD6K?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title and they do work well. the anc works well and the app stay put in my ears. the best i have tried. not slippery like apple’s. and very comfortable. don’t even notice i’m wearing ear buds.

I agree. Every memory foam modification I've tried makes the AirPods feel much heavier in my ears. When I go back to just the original tips, they feel so lightweight. At this point, I'm just gonna see what Comply comes up with instead of fooling around with more DIY mods.

At the base of the tips, you'll see two little slits. This is supposed to allow for airflow and to reduce pressure in your ears.

Those are how they attach to the body.

I just pledged $25 for a set of the black (super early) ones, looks like they are going quickly. Prob won't see them until mid March or later but will post my thoughts when I get them!
Do you know weather it has the protection grill or not on them?

Copied from their website, it does have mesh protection grille.

Just bought the CharJen black, but never bought from Kickstarter before. It didn't ask for my address details - just the delivery region. Is this normal and where do I enter my address?

After the campaign ends, in a month, they will send you an email they usually call a survey where you will finalize all of your shipping details. As a new person on Kickstarter, let me tell you the good and the bad. I have supported Kickstarter projects for at least 15 years. The date the company says they will begin shipping almost never happens. Most projects are delayed for a couple of months at least. I have backed several items that now are 6 months behind schedule and one that is two years behind schedule. You are not guaranteed you will ever get the product, except I have never been burned as of yet. Kickstarter is not a store. You will never get your money back once the campaign is over. The good is most times you get an innovative item eventually. This CharJen project is supposedly not their first and they already seem to be beta testing the tips, so I'm hopeful. If we get them in March I will be super surprised. If we get them by June I will be satisfied.

Thanks for that. I messaged them and they said the same about how it works. I know it's a gamble but be interesting to see if they have come up with a genuine quality product. I am crossing my fingers for March but like you I expect delays.

Normal airpods don't stay in my ears and and while these do, I can't get a secure fit even with the largest silicone so hoping this will work.

I got some cheap aliexpress ones and the symbio foam. Symbio is great, but the method of adding a foam tip underneath the silicon delivers way better sound isolation for me, will switch back to that. Looking forward to the charjen and comply offering.
