Most useful thing they could have done was make the port on the case USB-C as well. Otherwise I actually agree with OP that a USB-C to lightning cable is pretty useless as I still need a separate charging block to use it rather than get dual use out of my MBP charger. I hope Apple fully transitions to USB-C happens sometime soon.

I don’t want a USB type C on the case ... that would require me to carry another cable just for that. I carry with me the Powerbeats pro , the AirPods pro , bower and Wilkins PX5 AMD my iPhone. The bower and Wilkins PX5 has enough of a charge I don’t carry the cable and I don’t use them that much tbh. The Powerbeats is for work where I prefer the hooks and the AirPods are for bus travel

The beauty here is the premium pricing, but still excluding something like a USB-C brick, and then here we get people on the forum defending Apple.

The brainwashing is so good by Apple that they’ve actually convinced their base to defend every cheap and tacky margin benefiting move they make

Ummmm in Apples defense what premium true wireless earbuds or even headphones offer a brick?

Master and dynamic MW07? No
Sony WH-1000XM3? No
Sony WF-1000XM3? No
Jaybird vista ? No
Sennnhesier TMW? No
Bose 700? No
Bose soundsport true wireless? No
Bose QC35? No
Bower and Wilkins PX? No
Bower and Wilkins PX5? No

I can keep on naming more to prove the point nobody adds a brick

As long as the iPhone and iPad don’t switch soon, I agree. But I have a feeling they will at some point. Assuming it isn’t next years iPhone, perfect. I’ll probably be upgrading my headphones and phone at the same time two years later.

Yeah. My main thoughts are about unifying the charging port. I currently need USB-C for iPad/MBP, Lightning for iPhone and AirPods and like you micro usb for other devices. Would be beneficial to just have one charging cable type for all.

Now that we’ve well established that no one includes power bricks for any earbuds in this class, moving on to a simple solution for the people complaining about the usb-c cable -get a USB-C to A adapter plug. These work and are cheap.

Can you not just charge the airpod pros with a lightning to usb A cable and not use the Lightning to USBC cable? That was my plan.

I'm actually glad they came with a USB-C cable. I've been meaning to buy one seperately to use with my Macbook, and now I don't have to.
