The colour is unfortunate.

It's a shame that you can't try out all headphones in store. Well I guess there are some places that might?

I have a feeling that my ears are very small or of a unique shape... I use Sennheiser CX1.00s, CX3.00s, + Momentums.

I like having visible wires, they're my shield against retail SAs. They whisper, "Hello. No thanks. I am an adult and I can browse products without your assistance. If I require help, I will approach you."
The Apple Store by me actually have a set that anyone can try on. They recommend sharing your head to see if they will fall out. Funny, they had a demo pair, but none to purchase. Oh well.

Wow that's a blast from the past, I'm dating myself but I remember when that was state of the art.

Yep, still my favorite for listening to music while being active. Stays in place, light weight, barely feel them, and they sound pretty good too.

Now, if you want to know my favorite headphones of all-time, check out these for indoor relaxation (independent Left and Right side volume, adjustable, comfortable padding, noise canceling, but... slightly bulky lol).

AirPods have a rigid, plastic design that is meant to fit 'most ears'. But there's probably a trillion different ear shapes and you're bound to find people for whom the AirPods do not fit well. I'd say you fall into that category. Which is unfortunate, but that's what you get with a pair of earbuds that don't have a flexible fit.

I prefer sharing my head as well... gets annoying having to operate my brain all by myself. Not to mention the weight of this darn thing on my shoulders... Let someone else do the work. :D:cool:

Why has autocorrect gotten worse these last few years?!?

I intended to say 'shaking your head.' I'm sure everyone figured that out. Sorry I didn't catch it sooner.

So return them if it's making you spew so much venom. Perhaps the issue is your ears. Too tiny? Too big?By all intensive purposes reviews and users here say they fit great in the ears. Also, you knew what they looked liked before you bought them, so why buy? Take them back and go take a holiday instead. If you feel so stressed as to rant and curse profusely about a pair of earphones then you need it! Perhaps do a little research next time. You could have tried them on in store first too. Rant for rants sake? Just return them and do us all a favour.
The fault is in your ears. Reminds me of "You are holding it wrong". ROTFLMAO.
Give us a break, do us all a favour.

I feel fortunate that I have an ear shape that Apple's earbuds never fall out of. I've danced around, done jumping jacks and even ran around shooting hoops and not once did the AirPods even come loose.

And it comes from the simple fact that everyones ears are different.
So their ears may be the problem.
If thats the case, don't buy them, use them, or if you have already return or sell them. Time for you to just get over it and move on.

Or..... Apple could innovate, and design something that is able to be used by everyone. The problem with their current design, is that it's made for a specific body shape, and not everyone fits the mold.

What people may not realize, is that we did have ear buds in the 1960's and early 1970's.

And, they fell out of favor quite quickly for 2 reasons.

One... they'd get ear wax in them, and that was nasty.

Two... they were uncomfortable and didn't fit everybody.

I remember having them when I was a child. And using them to listen to my stories on tape and records at night. They weren't comfortable. But they were cheap enough to afford. So that's what I got.

As I got old enough to buy my own stuff, I moved on to the big comfortable headphones like I posted pics of above.

It is interesting to watch people flock to old tech like it's amazing new tech. But, Apple did pretty good at getting a new generation to go back to a design that even their grandparents had watched come and go.

One thing I will say, is that the old original 1960's and 1970's versions did stay in my ears. Whether that was because they were better designed, or because I was just smaller, who knows. I threw them out about 40 years ago. So, I don't have them to compare now.

Could you post a link/pic of these 1960's/early 1970's ear buds? Curious what they look like or who manufactured them.

I haven't seen them in decades. I did a search for them when I posted, and found some similar. But nothing quite like what I remember.

I do remember that the cables were very thin, very soft, almost like dental floss or perhaps wider like what I think dental tape might feel like (never used dental tape or seen it - just heard it existed).

Very easily kinked wires I would suspect. But strangely never broke on me (to my dismay). I hated those things.

Very delicate feeling anyway.

But back then we called them "earphones" or simply "phones".

Are you talking about these? https://www.wired.com/2009/10/the-original-white-earbud-over-40-years-old/
