I'll never understand why Apple chose NOT to display all-day events in Notification Center's Calendar widget. That's just beyond comprehensible. So according to Apple, all-day events are not really events?? Then what the hell are they??
Proof that this behavior makes zero sense and should be changed
By definition, an all-day event is an event that lasts from 00:01 until 23:59.
1. Create an event and mark it as "All Day"
Result: it does not appear in "Today View"
2. Create and event and set duration to "from 00:01 until 23:59"
Result: it appears in "Today View"
How do you even explain this?
