It’s for who most of Apple’s products for. People that have the money to spend and who would like to spend it on an Apple device.but who is it for?
Many people posed with the question “What are you buying this for” would likely just answer “Me”.

Yes I know it is the most expensive but what if I want performance and not so much storage? Nobody really needs 1TB of storage but I do want a top display, fast processor and bags of RAM. I want top of the line specs but my question is how come storage determines other specs, in this case RAM? That's a load of BS.Cellular + 1TB + 6GB RAM - sounds like top of the range to me.

They also seem to have all been issued Space Grey units for review. Come on Apple, where's the variety?
Kills their ripoff storage plans so I can"t see it.I’ve been heartened by the amount of reviewers calling for more USB-C functionality - it is only right that if you ship a computer with such a multi-purpose port, it should behave the way users could reasonably expect (external storage and whatnot). I’m confident that Apple will loosen its grip on this at some point, possibly with iOS 13; maybe not fully, but I think there will be some added functionality between external storage and the files app.

Good observation. Wonder why they did that.Big error by Apple in my opinion.
One, every review mentioned the $2,000+ price.
Second, it made the hard comparison against PC use cases, which iOS does not support well.
It's subtle, but I think this was one of the biggest snafu's by Apple marketing.
For sure, planned obsolescence on release day... that’s how Apple rolls now.4GB models will be crippled, return your iPad's!

^^This^^Really? You know NOBODY really needs 1TB of storage? I have a feeling the people who work with raw images and videos and will be using the 2019 version of full photoshops, taking their iPad on the road to clients, etc. are going to disagree with you.
Storage CAN dictate RAM. A 1 TB drive needs more RAM to aid in it. In another thread on these forums somebody has the numbers, and a 1 TB drive required 0.5 MB of RAM more than the lesser storage options. 4.5 GB and 5GB of memory don't really exist all that much, so Apple had to go up to 6 GB. On the flip side, if you are actually after the most RAM, a smaller storage solution requires a smaller amount of RAM for the cache. So if all the other models do have 4GB then the ones with less RAM would have more access to it.
That aside...did any of the reviewers really even tax the iPad to show even a 4GB would have been taxed? By this I mean, short of some hefty hard-hitting programs that are not even out yet, or maybe hard hitting games (which won't be developed JUST for the 1 TB 6GB iPad anyway), many people are not going to be seeing the difference in real life, and reviewers didn't have access to programs written to take advantage of 6 GB either.
I agree. I don't understand why they didn't provide the 256GB version which has enough storage so that reviewers don't immediately complain about the base model and costs significantly less.Big error by Apple in my opinion.

Yeah, nobody really needs 1TB on an iPad. As for the storage thing I was trying to say that I shouldn't have to buy more storage in order to get more RAM. The amount of storage I need shouldn't dictate the performance I get from the device.Really? You know NOBODY really needs 1TB of storage? Hi! I'm nobody.Yeah, nobody really needs 1TB on an iPad.
What apps right now would be taking advantage of that 6GB?To showcase the 6GB ram without explicitly saying so.
Frequent shuffling of content which, given I have to download from the internet and babysit the app while downloading, I find mighty annoying (is there a way to circumvent Apple's 10-minute restriction on background app downloads?).How did you survive previously?

I think many are over-reacting like I did when I first saw the Geekbench.
But logic set in and I remembered my knowledge about computers and had people here remind or teach me to not care as it really makes no difference.
So, I say either get and pay for the 1TB or just stop worrying and being mad about it. Cause if it truly does bother you, you can simply hold off buying an iPad u til you can afford the 1TB... or in 2020 when the iPad X arrives and most likely will have all models with 6-8GB RAM....
But for now, even if you got the 1TB option... you will NOT notice any difference as the RAM is barely higher at 5.52GB.
Maybe a tiny percentage of a difference, but really (like a 2-7% difference IMO.
I just can’t wait to get mine tomorrow. *knock on would that I get a good non damaged, no QC issues, or glitchy iPad.
(especially) with any screen uniformity issues, not being able to reach 600 nits brightness, light-bleed, or dead pixels.
Sounds like a long list, but it actually isn’t asking a whole lot. lol
Kallum.
