I bought a pair of pants that i think costs too much and maybe I’ll return them. Maybe I won’t. Maybe I’ll see who else thinks pants are too expensive? iPhone is a product. Products can be good or bad. That’s why people can buy them if they want to.

I'll bet you bought those horrible gold pants, too, didn't you?

Yes but the price is what’s pissing me off lol..

There is nothing in these phones that justify spending that amount of $$ on it.

Sounds like you’re just mad that the XS is the same price as your depreciated X value lol it’s an improved version and you still have a choice as a consumer which Apple isn’t robbing you of anything than telling you that your X had been discontinued since a better version replaces it

Screen still looks outdated!
Outdated? Huh? It’s ridiculously hi res. Colors pop but still look natural.

Are you comparing it to one of Samsung’s acid trip cartoon screens? I can’t stand looking at those screens. They’re like the Jersey Shore of screens. Over the top, fake colors.

The OP paid around the same for his X a year ago that someone pays for this year’s slightly updated XS with the same OLED display he toots, but that person got robbed yet the OP didn’t???

It would make more sense if the OP was referring to those who purchased the X last year and then this year went and purchased the XS without being on the IUP program.

However, I feel retarded trying to make sense of what the OP means

It actually makes sense to me now why they discontinued the X. The XS would’ve been like a $100 more expensive version of the X. Just not enough of a difference in performance.

I agree, the pricing is absolutely ridiculous but you lost me at the whole screen is outdated and nothing is new part. That is when I realized this is nothing but a case of someone really wanting the phone but not having the bankroll to purchase it. I’ll leave it at that.

Well, I believe what OP means is, Apple is robbing those that believe these iPhones are worth the price which many know is overpriced.
I bought my X last year for $1000. The new Xs is $1000 and has improvements, even if they are slight improvements it’s still a improved version of the X for the same price.. If people don’t think it’s worth it, don’t buy it.. Upgrading for me isn’t worth it but, if I’m coming from a 6s or 7 I’d say it might be worth considering.

Not taking mineback but I’m upgrading from a 7+. I got it through the T-Mobile promo. Mom wanted a cheaper carrier (her line is $20) And my sisster wanted to upgrade so in the end I got it for $650. Hell I might take it back and just get the x for $550.

A lot of things in life are expensive but I say if you use these products on a daily basics they are worth it to many people. I spend a lot of money on tech but is it it any different to those spending £40-50 every weekend on booze? and after that night it's just a memory least you are using phones on a daily basics and making great use out of them.

Not much in this world is cheap after all.

People think Apple is overcharging. Just think how much it costs to pay all the employees, especially at the spaceship. All those software and hardware engineers are not working for minimum wage. We are talking $100,000+ a year employees, with health insurance, plus all the other employees worldwide, etc. I would bet 80% of their operating costs are employee pay and benefits. Sure, the parts are probably $200, but add in employee wages and benefits, taxes, etc, those new phones are probably closer to $600 to $700.

TBH phones should not cost as much as a an entry level Mac...I have an X on one line but I always was bothered by the aspect ratio that being said if I had to choose one iOS device I would have sold the X for 600 or so and put it towards the max...of course having a multi line business account means I can just swap lines and not have to deal with that dilemma ..bottomline the max is probably only worth it if u need the bigger screen or better camera...faceid is faster but not so much so that it's worth the premium..the CPU and GPU really how much faster do u need to open up messages..the bigger battery eh 30 min isn't that big a deal and most ppl I know carry external packs. Faster wireless charging again isn't that much faster..u aren't getting Android speed wireless charging..so it really comes down to screen size and camera I feel.

I mean honestly that’s your own fault. You don’t need to upgrade every year.

Do you buy a new car every year? And get pissed off that they release a new model every year, for the same price (or slightly more), with barely any noticeable upgrades? Or do you buy a car and use it for a number of years until you decide to upgrade?

Apple is a trillion dollar company - they're doing just fine with payroll. Next year, let's all hope Apple raise the cost of iPhone XI to a minimum of $1500 64GB. That way, we can compensate all the employees a bonus and raise. :D

Went from a 7+ to a XS Max, so glad I did, love the bigger screen, don't mind the notch on the Max, more real-estate for videos, and apps.

If that’s truly your main issue, then just buy the Xr (in October), starting at only $749.

Problem solved.

I bought the XS, even though I have an X. The real reason, when I do so, I am getting rid of a 5S in the process.

I have 5 phones and 5 members of the family. Each year we buy a new phone and everyone get's an upgrade, one way or another. The XS has some major improvements to the X, in photography. Well this includes the XS Max, and the XR.

For years, I have purchased a Plus sized phone, because it has consistently had the better camera. Last year on the X, it was all by itself, with the best camera. This year the XS and MAX have the same camera. For the first time, when given a choice, I am able to buy the smaller phone, and my family is actually happier about it. If the SE had the same camera as the XS/Max, heck I would buy the SE.

Its is and it isn't about the money. Do I enjoy spending $1450, w/AC+, Taxes and a mid tier XS? Nope, don't like it.

However I am not going to return it. I will find a way to earn a little extra to make up the difference. I did it last year, I can do it this year. Two kids in college, house remodeling projects, two cars to pay off, eh I will manage.

I’m so proud of everybody at this forum. Everyone so rarely takes the bait for these type of trolling threads. Newsflash: you’re in an Apple fan forum - no one cares if you don’t like the phone, or are glad you didn’t get it, or it’s too expensive because you can’t afford to buy it and also buy food for your children, or your cousin’s grandmother says the phone molested her, or the phone told you to murder a bunch of people.

Man the two weeks around a new product launch is like my favorite time at macrumors forums - it’s like an early Christmas for me .

Haha some people here spend easy £6 on coffee a day in Costa. Madness I save my money for a new iPhone each year instead.

I Think this thread is instigating nothing more than arguments. Consumers justify their own money and how they spend it, Apple gives you a choice, either you take it or you leave it.
