That is excellent news. I'll go ahead and purchase a base model and then add memory later if needed. I'll be using a bluetooth keyboard and will be sure to have a USB keyboard on hand. My Microsoft USB mouse and Dell monitor should both work.

Thanks for the report; I'm most appreciative.

Welcome kabob....

Now for the hard part in getting Microsoft out of my head and finding things on this Apple. Wish this OS had a "Notepad" application or "WordPad" so I would not have to learn some thing new.

Just placed a 4 GB memory stick from G-Skill and now I have 5 GB total. Don't really see a difference in what I'm doing at this time.

Good luck with your future purchase kabob

Do you need a basic text editor or as a quick notepad thing? For text TextEdit (included with OS X) might work, for a notepad/text scratch I use Notational Velocity, but there's other options out there too.

Just found the text editor japtor and its fine, but am now looking for just a simple Word program that does not have Excel/power point and all the rest I do not need that works on a Mac.

Thanks for the link

Very simple and basic (may be too much so for your needs), but try this free one:

Works great for "light duty".

Another good one to check out. Thank you Fishrrman ;) :D

Txt editor is OK, but the ones suggested and shown by you guys are in the right direction.

Go with Pages. It is a great word processing program. It is in the App Store for $19.99. I just bought the Mac mini and upgraded my RAM to 8 gigs. Mine is really performing well.

You will be extremely happy with your conversion to Apple from the PC world.
I have never had any regrets since I came over from the dark side.

I'm going with both a free version of a simple word program and "Pages". Might as well go full steam ahead with this apple product and programs to check out.

I'm retired and have a credit card  :D
