Am i the only one that doesn’t like Face ID..

I don't own a device with Face ID, but take this as a just one more opinion. In general I see how Face ID is more secure than Touch ID. While fingerprints are unique, the home button is not that big and works with partial finger prints and when it comes to partial ones you could lose the uniqueness. I am not saying that it happens every day, I am just saying that it could happen. It's not like that with Face ID. IMO that can't happen there.
That being said I see the minus in Face ID in the sense that you need to look at your device to unlock which for me could be difficult when I am in the bed at 2 am and wake up and want to check something. That case is more valid for a phone than for an iPad. When it comes to iPads I have to admit I think that in most cases I look at the iPad anyway so I am not sure that this affects that much (well until you get used to not hide the camera).
The best would be if you had the two options but that's not the case. Plus having the two options in the same time might increase the prices even more.

I love it as I was never a big fan of Touch ID. Face ID on my original iPhone X is pretty good, but it’s much faster on the new iPads. I like it a lot.I’ve gone to the apple store and Best Buy a few times.. I would like to get a new iPad Pro or iphone but i really dont like Face ID. Any body else feel like this... I would say the iPhone X’s max is a great looking phone but that Face ID is a deal breaker for me...
Works great and it is very convenient to use! Never go back to fingerprints again!
Ever since I experienced Face ID on the X, I haven't turned back. Granted, I still used my 10.5" everyday until last week, but it was a seamless experience transitioning from Touch ID to Face ID on the iPad. Different strokes for different folks though.
Touch ID was and continues to be a pain for me. It has never worked consistently for me or my wife. Maybe 50% first time success rate. Others I talk to never have a problem. I have the exact opposite experience with Face ID. I absolutely love it. It works 99% of the time for me.

I have used my iPP with Face ID in bed at night, no lights turned on. The ambient light off of the screen is enough for Face ID to work just fine.
FYI, Face ID has infrared dot projector and flood illuminator so no visible light is needed for authentication.
I was sceptic, but now I love Face ID much more than Touch ID. I adapted in one day (!). I’m saying it as former owner of first iPad with Touch ID (iPad Air 2). Also, I still have my iPad Pro 2017 (for sale) and when I use it, it feels ancient.

I have none as of yet. Really can’t get into them.
But why though? What about Face ID do you not think you will like?
To me it is far superior to Touch ID and I never want to have an iOS device without it.
Face ID is so much better than Touch ID. It was. One of the three factors in me getting the new iPad Pro. Along with the reduced bezels, and the iPhone 5 design. It’s just so much easier to use for some reason...even when it doesn’t work right for whatever reason, usually because I’m out of view of the camera, it’s nice and easy to just enter my passcode. when having to enter a password that I have saved somewhere, or approved a transaction, it’s so much easier just having to wait a second for it to scan my face then reposition my hand/arm depending on how I’m laying and holding the iPad. Face I’d just seems more fluent, more so on the iPad.
I agree. I just don’t trust it for some reason. Having infrared light flashing in your eyes all the time seems like a bad idea and Touch ID has always been very fast and reliable and works basically 100% of the time (well 2nd gen Touch ID does, 1st gen Touch ID can be a little slow). I’m in no hurry to jump on the Face ID bandwagon.
Touch ID has been way more hit or miss for me than Face ID has ever been. For instance, I have a 7S from work and I keep it in an OtterBox; the cover on the fingerprint scanner makes it really touchy (no pun intended) and unreliable. My younger daughter has an iPad in an OtterBox as well, and same thing. I’d love for these things to have Face ID instead; they would unlock so much more reliably.
I also like being able to unlock my iPad without having to reach up to touch the fingerprint sensor; just click the Smart Keyboard and boom, it’s unlocked. Love it.

As a craftsman my hands get abused daily, my fingerprints get messed up often so I hate Touch ID. Face ID makes this a lot more manageable, and if I have messy hands I only need to use the clean parts of my hand if I need to use the device before washing up.
And how natural it is when it's on the Keyboard Folio. You just wake it up and it unlocks, without the need to lift your hand and place your thumb at the exact point of the home button. The only downside is the placement of the cameras. My thumb always covers it.
