Actual Usage As Indicated in the Settings

What will really help us all to compare our battery lives is to list what the usage indicator reads in the settings. That will be much more telling than the typical 'I play my iPod an hour or so and email every hour' response. It should also not state "iPhone has been plugged in since last full charge."

Only problem is different apps pull different amounts of power. Playing music with the screen off won't drain like watching a movie.

It will be hard to compare one user to the next with "just" usage readings.

I love my battery life

I use it every chance I get every day. I would say every night it is around 40-50% i charge it overnight, works great!
I do find that internet takes up the most amount of battery. and that the phone call only makes it last forever. I have already had a 5ish hour conversation on it, and it looked to me to be around 70%
of note? how are you all saying what percentage it is? I just guestimated from looks.

I would really like them to update the usage stats. they really only need to break it down into a few more catagories. the four main ones at the bottom. Phone, Internet, ipod, and "the rest"
I would find that very helpful for myself, however I do not expect to see it ever happen.

PSS: has everyone cycled their battery charge? COmpletely drained till comepletely dead, and even then let it sit, then for a 8 hour charge?
I found this process the first time dramatically improved my battery life compared to when i first charged it.

This is my second iPhone and it seems that my battery is worse on this one than on my last one.

I have my phone on way below half brightness, wifi is off, I barely browse the internet and I only used 40 minutes(calls) today. My battery is almost dead...

As much as I love this phone, I wanna be able to "use it" and not have it as a paperweight. I wouldn't mind it being a little thicker than what it is, if it had 3G and a better battery life, it would probably feel better in the hands, I have almost dropped this phone 3 times and I have big hands, I can only imagine how hard it is to hold for people with small hands...
