Ach! I screwed up with my kids then! The traditional bar form factor will probably remain for years to come. Apple would likely position the foldable iPhone to the generation that grew up holding tablets. Those consumers used an iPad from day one, so having an iPad and iPhone combined is a natural evolution. Using a traditional computer is "weird" for them if it's not touch enabled.
The way we see a 17-inch PowerBook today, the current generation sees the MacBook Air/Pro in the same vein.
My son got an iBook G3 when he was 5 (2008) and my daughter got a TiBook G4 when she was around 6 (2014). So both have grown up using laptops and desktop computers. My son has had a series of PCs and my daughter has killed two laptops. Her school uses laptops.
They do use phones, but laptops are their primary devices.
So, odd kids out in their generation…sigh!
