And place your orders. I'm in on the 6G full-sized iPod no matter what the features. I'm still not sold on replacing the click wheel for large capacity iPods but I'm certainly willing enough to try getting accustomed to what they do with the touch interface on iPod, certainly willing enough to immediately buy one. I only hope they keep the "chromed" case backs that can be laser engraved, as I've taken to having my iPods engraved and enjoy that personalization, as I don't resell them.
Love to spend some money on a new iPod order come 5th September. The date sounds right for a good lead in to the holiday season for a big product that has seen only a very minor update in two years; I doubt Apple wants their iPod customer base, which is many times the iPhone base, to feel as if they've been tossed over for the new kid on the block. The nano promotion doesn't end until 16th September; but if they announce and ship full-sized iPods, the ones not in the promotion, on the 5th, but announce on the 5th yet do not ship new nanos until after the 16th of the month I don't see any conflict with their current promotional program. It certainly won't kill off the back-to-school Mac sales, as the current generation nano included is *free*, the promotion *is* ending, and if you want one of the new nanos instead you can just have two at no extra cost, perhaps give the older model away as a gift, or even sell it.
