Amazon MBP 1.83 availability and shipping

wow.

man, you just must be getting the wrong reps on the phone------neither of the people i talked to on two different days told me anything like that at all, in fact i just checked mine and it's now in north carolina and ups says i'll have it tomorrow.........i'll pm you...........--------sandi
 
got mine today too :) ......and yes, the 1.83 .......i'll pm you my order number so you can use it as an example for amazon........--------sandi
 
when did you order?

I ordered my 1.83 (or 1.67 then) on January 24th. Amazon tells me that I should expect delivery until the first week of April.

When did you order yours? Could you PM me your order number?

The thing that's got me so frustrated is that Amazon has now said (in writing to me!) that pre-ordering does NOT put you on a waiting list, or give you priority over orders placed afterwards. Makes you wonder!

I ordered on 1/18. I did order a second 1.83 on 3/9 and got an expected ship date of 3/10 for it. But, back on 1/18, the 1.83 was $1995 (I know, it's only $5 but to me, $5 is $5). So I tried changing something on my original order (I added a free gift message). Maybe it was coincidence, but within an hour, my credit card was charged and I couldn't change the order. Thankfully, I was still able to cancel the second order.
 
I agree, will never pre-order from Amazon again.
Today I complained that my pre-order from Jan 18 had still not shipped.
Got upgraded to one day shipping for free, but since I already have prime on trial it was only worth $4.
After that I tested to order a second one and lo and behold, (!) got the exact same ship date! March 23-30!

It does not pay to pre-order with them I am seriously considering cancelling and re-ordering in order not to mess up my rebate....

Lo and behold, today I can not cancwel it I got a good news mail saying it is shipping today! Hm, now I only have to worry about getting my rebate,. When I asked via email they told me that if the posting date is passed than that is it. contrary to what I was told over the phone a month ago when I asked.

see, peter?? it was because i gave you my order number and when anyone is associated with me, their computer magically ships :) ........now, when you get it, teach me how to use this thing, all i'm doing is playing with garageband and taking pictures of the cats with photobooth so far :p ------sandi
