By the way Itunes is slowly moving away from using DRM but as with any chnge the price has gone up. I dont know if you have noticed some songs are more than $.99 now...... Just thought you guys should know this.

In January 2009 Apple *completely* turned off DRM for music instantly (i.e. NOT 'slowly').

And as a result of that change, record labels demanded price increases, which is why on iTunes, Amazon, Walmart and so on most new pop songs are $1.29. There is data that sales actually dropped as a result, but the record companies just blame piracy and keep up the greed ...
 
I love $5 specials. Since iPad, I have completely switched to ebooks. I don't like CDs and books taking up space any more. Only concern is that with Amazon, there is no re-download. Hopefully, my backup will help me with the potential concern.
