They are different. On iOS you can adjust the ringer and media, different from the alarm. I don't know why that guy thinks lowering ringer volume messes with alarm.
Exactly...but saying that there is no reason to WANT to do it is simply foolish.

So, you want the phone volume so low that you can't hear it, but want the alarm loud....? And somehow, the mute switch wouldn't work here...? The mute switch doesn't effect the alarm.
Dude, give it up. It's a smart design and it works very well. The guy obviously didn't know about the Do Not Disturb feature.

From what I experienced earlier this year with a One M8, a G Flex, and a One Plus One, if I use someone else's iPhone that doesn't have a pre existing thread with me, texting back and forth works like normal. The send button is green right from the start. Some people that I had an existing thread on their phone, I was unable to receive their texts as they send as an iMessage.I want to point out that I had no issue with the iMessage problem and I switched phones on a regular basis.....
Which makes me wonder what the exact culprit is. I do know, that if you plan on switching for a while (or good). All you need to do is sign out of iCloud before you switch.
Yes, I do use iOS, I have used iOS since 2007. You *REALLY* have no idea what you're talking aboutWTF?? Do you like, actually even USE iOS? Putting the ringer volume down doesn't affect the alarm. I would know, I've done this many times with my iPod touch.
They are most assuredly not different, the ringer and alerts volume affects any ringer, including the alarm ringer volume. They are different. On iOS you can adjust the ringer and media, different from the alarm. I don't know why that guy thinks lowering ringer volume messes with alarm.

If you turn down the ringer volume, and then try setting an alarm, it affects the alarm too.
Dude, if you're gonna freak out about something someone says because you think they don't know what they're talking about...make sure that YOU'RE not the one who has no clue first, k?
