I guess I have wasted 1367 viewers of this thread's time... I am sure this thread is informative to some of them. I am sure I am not the first and last one who notice this... :p

Lol I remember noticing these before. My first stupid thought was that my iPhone had like sunspots or something. Lol.

They're actually backup speakers in case one of the bottom 2 stops working.

That's probably the most ridiculous post I've read in a while!! First of all, there's only 1 speaker (technically, 2 with the ear piece) and it's the the mesh-covered hole on the bottom left. The one on the right is the microphone.

Oh the money I would make from people like you if I invented a sarcasm detector.

On a more pertinent note, I've been spending most of my MR time over in the MacBook Pro forums latley to learn all of the improvements that Apple made on the new MBP that I got that are new from my old MBP. I'm not sure if that sentence even makes sense but I'm too lazy to proof-read, onto my point.

The iPhone forums truly are the "hood" of MacRumors. There must be a 10-1 ratio of rude/pointless comments to helpful ones.

Not that I help the cause at all... Haha

Now that is truly priceless... :D

iPhone has obviously become everyman's phone. You don't need money or class (not that the two necessarily have to go hand-in-hand) to own one these days. This is blatantly obvious when you come in here.

I still find it extremely entertaining...

So, is this a rude/pointless one or a helpful one?? :D

I've not been in those forums, since I'm still on a PC (going to a mac soon, but not yet). I think the reason this area has more of a "hood" environment is due to the summer holidays (and all that entails, if you know what I mean). Also the furor over MMS isn't helping. However, I think things will get better in a month or so.

I personally didn't like how the OP originally got treated for his post. I think had he not been in these forums for awhile, then he would not know about these "holes." He surely wouldn't have a reason to think they are sensors.

Anyway, I'm not sure why this thread hasn't been closed.

I just heard that if you angle your iphone at a 15 degree angle (up - very important), begin the notes app and type in "jobs" (no quote) then tap the home button - enter the camera app - close the app - then (keeping the iphone level) rotate it 360 degrees

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENS

Oh aggie how this post shows your true "MacRumors Forum" age. I've followed this forum for about 3 years now when I got my first MBP, but never had anything to post. Once the iPhone forum first showed up I would dabble in it to see the incredible things the iPhone users had to say and at that time the iPhone forum was as classy as the rest of the forum.

I've noticed a trend of degradation over the past year and a half or so on this forum, that's been consistent. The activity does fluctuate around peak interest times but the quality never seems to increase.

I finally joined in January cause I had my first Apple problem with my iPhone and had a question, I've been stuck here ever since ... Kinda like I would imagine purgatory. Haha.

Keep hoping things will shape up once the school bell rings and MMS is released aggie... but I'll put money on it that it won't, and by money I mean air, cause that's about how much a US Dollar is worth, oops.. Wrong forum.

I did this and my phone exploded...

Its funny.... people bitched about the "sticky's" at the top of the page which covered this stuff... so they took them down..... now someone comes on here gets crucified for asking one of those questions..... People should not be allowed to post till they have read all of those threads.... AND the Mods should close posts like this

You're right OP. You're not the first one to notice them.
Everyone else who notices them just has enough sense to either disregard them or research them hard enough to realize that they're sensors.

You can take off your tin foil hat now.

AMEN!!! This is the worst thread in Macrumors history
