But I bet you would NOT consider the 11" MBA a 'netbook' if that is was the version you chose to purchase... :)

Actually, as my sig line attested until earlier this afternoon, I considered the model I _DID_ purchase a netbook until I started using it and realized how closely it mimicked the performance of the 13" MBP. That was what made me change my mind on my model.

The 11" with that short squashed screen and diminutive palm wrest looks and feels like a Netbook....a superior netbook, to be sure, thats a fact. But still a tiny, "cute" Netbook form factor. I may still end up buying one for my daughter who is about to leave for college. She'll find it cute and girlie and stuff....and likely plaster it with stickers.

Sorry, didn't think the Anandtech review was all that. Fell asleep about half way through. Enjoyed the Techcrunch review more, even if it came from a fanboy perspective. At least it kept me awake.

This machine is obviously not meant for heavy-duty gaming or 3D video editing. Why do naysayers bash a product for not doing what it's not intended to do?

What impressed me most about the barefeats review was that the 13 inch 2.13Ghz MBA beat the workhorse 13 inch 2.4Ghz MBP in every test but one. That's not too shabby for a wafer thin 2.9 pound ultra lightweight. As impressive as the 15 inch 2.66Ghz i7 MBA was, it would be overkill for me. Maybe I'll think about that when the time comes to replace my 17 inch MBP but for the moment at least the 13 inch 2.13Ghz MBA would suit me better.
