You've nailed that pretty good, even down to the final batches of BB users that I know are exactly like this.

It just seems like everyone is jealous of the United States.

How come you never hear Canada is the greatest nation on earth with the most prosperity, wealth, and opportunity.

Or Belgium, or Japan, or [insert literally any country in the world].

America is a model country for the world to follow and America is the pinnacle of world success.

Our currency alone has the world reserve currency! The US dollar reigns supreme.

So if anyone says America is not great they're only fooling themselves, and missing out living in such an extraordinary country.

Must be hard seeing RIMM fall apart I guess:D
Even their own top executives are selling off all their stocks of blackberry and running away. The writing is on the wall...

Every companies execs do that. usually there is a hold period that they are not allowed to sell. A bunch of the apple execs did the same thing when apple stock was going high. They are smart and sell when they stock is rising rather than waiting and risk it falling again.

They sold some stocks.
This guy was the biggest stockholder and top executive and sold every single stock he had.
You still dont get it?
He's jumping ship before the company is completelly worthless cause he can see this is not going to end well so he's looking after his pocket.

Of course you have the typical American attitude that we are the greatest nation, people, we do no wrong and can do what ever we want ect ect. THAT is why we are the laughing stock of the world. The idea of America is awesome, too bad greed and pompous attitudes (much like yours) is pulling us away from what we used to be.

When the richest country in the world can't feed it's people there is an issue. When the CEO pulls 7+ figure income while the worker gets just above minimum wage, there's an issue. When corporate greed (housing crash) goes unpunished as millions lose their homes, there's an issue.
You can't say we are the greatest country when we can't even fix our own domestic issues.

Some Americans are much like Crackberries, Fandroids, Fanbois, they go over the top related to their person views and don't take account of all the other awesome options out there.

That would be true 6-7 years ago or more.
Now our economy went to crap, our currency keeps losing value and its not worth much compared to other countries.
The unemployeement level is through the roof, country is struggling, the national debt keeps growing like crazy and the borrowing debt ceiling has to keep getting increased while our politicians look like they cant handle the situation and there's great uncertainty for the future of this country.
Cant feed our own poverty struck citizens but we spend millions on wars every month and donate money and assistance to other countries that hate us.
Dont make sense. I dont see that as a great country or what it used to be 10-20 years ago. The American dream is slipping away.

May I ask which country you would like to live in if you could live anywhere in the world?

Dare not say America after that rant.

---------

And who's not being fed? Who's starving to death on the streets of your local town from hunger? And if you find them, send them to the local SSI office and put them on some food stamps.

Now, you tell a person in any other country who's starving on the street he can get on some food stamps and eat he'll tell you:

"That'd be the greatest nation on earth!!!"

Apple juiced, you can't be serious.

Who's hungry? Who's starving for food here? Why aren't they on food stamps?

Doesn't make sense man. The Dow & S&P are near all time highs!

Out of all the world economies, the US stock market has outperformed every developed country in the world this year by a looong shot suggesting the US is where people are trusting their money.

Unemployment is significantly down, about 7.8% which means 92.2% of America is employed, people's retirement portfolio's are at all time highs since 2007, housing sales and values are up sharply since their lows, more people are retiring.

We're pulling out of Afghanistan. You think our Commander doesn't know our debt is high? Of course he does. We're working on reducing our debt.

Mark my words:

The American Dream is in it's infancy my friend.

I work hard. You work hard. We all work very very hard in this country, and with our work ethic, we will continue to prosper.

Anyone who has EVER betted against America has lost.

Another flash of that good ol American attitude.... either you're with us or you're with the terrorists attitude.

I can love my country and still point out the flaws I feel it has. I can be a proud American without acting like a total asshat to all other members of the world. I have lived in several countries, traveled to even more and I can say If I had an option to live anywhere it would be Reykjavík. Standard of living, the people, the beautiful country.... yep Iceland is where it's at! (All the women are freaking hot, they must hide all the ugly ones when I go!) OR I would go to the land of my sons birth, Germany. Always loved Germany, probably one of my favorite places to live.
I have to assume you have never traveled much less lived outside of the US. Not making a judgement simply stating that if you had lived outside the US for any length of time you may have a different view.... IF you have and you still feel the way you do there is no hope.

Ummm how about our own lower enlisted soldiers? E-1 with a kid or two will typically not make enough to sustain his/her family and will need to go on public assistance.... AND you saying "send them to the local SSI office and put them on some food stamps" proves my point better than anything I said. The fact that we NEED food stamps proves our country needs improvement.

I should also add, you go to Canada and get sick, GOOD LUCK my friend.

Wait awhile to get an appointment. The doc sees you for like 2 minutes doesn't say much. Refers you to some other doc

Wait forever to see him. He says get a CAT scan.

Wait a month for that.

It's a nightmare.

In America, you're doc doesn't give you time? Fire him. See another one.

Can't afford healthcare? Get on that Obamacare.

Hit up you're local free hospital.

I'm telling you folks appreciate this country. It's truly the best place to live. Y'all take too much for granted.

Yeah I've lived overseas. Unless you like narrow roads, ridiculously small everything from food portions to hotel rooms and housing, atrocious healthcare,

few if ANY programs to help the poor and starving,

a lame duck economy, severely reduced opportunity for your children, and not even an extra FORK at McDonalds without them asking for extra money,

then don't leave the United States.

And for Christ's Sake if you can't find a dime piece in America to hook up with, I dont think moving overseas will you help you get any.

All countries NEED food stamps for the poor. The difference is, they don't even provide it for their citizens.

Now THAT'S a messed up country my friend. And no they don't starve. Google "starving child" and click images.

Then blame that country for letting those people starve.

----------

I take it you never heard about the Vietnam war

Well I hope they didn't buy Vietnamese Stocks after that. Bad bet.

Us stocks as we know were a great bet.

NOR do I hope they moved to Vietnam over the US lol

And thats exactly one of the many reasons why we are the greatest. Because we have programs to care for the poor, while others let their poor suffer and die.

I appreciate the sound discussion, my fellow Americans. Let me add, it's people like YOU, yes you, who help keep this country great. It's the checks and balances of the American people that help keep this country great. It's your voice. Your opinions. Your discussions. Your rants and criticisms that keep this country alive - that keep our elected officials on the edge of their seat, literally, every 4 years.

Imagine, we could be in North Korea, and tomorrow the army will come arrest us and punish us for three generations. YES THREE GENERATIONS will suffer torture and prison.

Why?

Because we talked smack and did roll with gov't propaganda.

I am truly proud to be an American. I love the endearing people, the luxuries we take for granted, the rights we never think of, the opportunities we don't always use; There's so much. It's just a matter of opening your eyes to see that America is Truly the Greatest Nation on Earth -

"The hope of the world."

To be clear here people not all of us Americans share myiphone7's views!

We are living in a time where I'm seeing rally's of very highly paid doctors and nurses protesting health care issue yet he's bragging about them. Claims we never lost a war (but technically never stated we won them all either lol). Acts like other countries don't have means of welfare (which I might add ours is not good in comparison to some and abused by a poor system).

The term ugly American doesn't apply to us all.

I'm extremely proud to be an American. But I also can see our faults. I can't claim that a certain group of people are greater then another based on where they live when we have so many faults. Most things we are number #1 in arent things to be proud of... :)

But you can't say that without looking at THEIR faults before deciding which nation is the greatest. I appreciate your humility it definitely is a wonderful characteristic of many people in our nation but I don't see any other country most Americans would want to live in nor do I see an shortening in green card applications from people overseas lol.

In fact, we have the highest applications from immigrants in the world!

For a small island, we sure have a lot to offer. Great welfare system to support those in need and free healthcare for all.
