http://www.greenbot.com/article/306...e-camera-shootout-galaxy-s7-vs-iphone-6s.html

The above is the most unbiased review I've found that shows strengths and weakness of each camera (more relevant to s7). iphone camera software never blew out highlights unless af/ae lock was set to somewhere else and I'm hoping that issue will be resolved via a software update.

Even if the S7 camera is slightly ahead, not many people will go get Galaxies now because of the media reports. I still think that the iPhone does a good job with camera shots, so it's likely that people aren't going to be making a huge deal about the camera differences.

The GS7 doesnt have any battery concerns.

Read on Reddit. The July Patch made T-Mobile's S7 battery issues apparent. Same with other S7s world-wide.

The exploding s7/s7e have not been reported as due to manufacturer defects. Get some courage.

Then how does a phone spontaneously combust on CCTV? It's not likely people would be dumb enough to intentionally destroy their own phones, especially on video, to file a lawsuit. That would be counterintuitive since you're throwing away resources on a frivolous suit.

Show us a link to a recall of the S7 can you? No because there isn't one. The internet is full is BS articles of people trashing anything for either money or fame. But you know that don't you.

Stop with your rubbish. Makes you look silly.

 I havent seen one report of GS7's having this issue. Even if there was a couple, iPhones have caught on fire before and its a non issue. Just because the Note 7 is having a problem, it dosnt mean all Samsungs are under the microscope. I am on TMobiles July patch and havent had a problem. If there were an issue, TMobile would put out a new patch....which i doubt the patch would be the problem. Sounds like rubbish to me.

So now a camera thread is turning into a battery debacle.....

I guess it's inevitable here when theres so many *insert your choice of word* who don't actually contribute to a discussion but come into the alternatives forums just to defend or bash and then have the cheek to call others defensive and such.
It's a bit lame but kind of to be expected, these people aren't exactly subtle.

Now we all know he new iPhone isn't the magical camera people were claiming to be and is I guess we can expect to be arguing til the end of time about Samsungs batteries and how all models are affected.

There's quite a few threads devoted to battery issues where batteries can be discussed, there was even a new Note 7 thread started today.

A few things to note, neither actually show the correct colors for the scene. The S7E picks up a yellowish cast which has been typical of Samsung devices since the S6 meanwhile the iPhone gives a flatter more subdued white balance. The yellowish hue tends to make the image appear brighter but can lead to additional problems depending on the scene. In terms of the shutter speed chosen by the phones, the S7E opts for a higher ISO (1000 to 1250) and a faster shutter speed of 1/10 second. Meanwhile the iPhone chose an ISO of 200-320 and a longer shutter speed of 1/4 second.

The S7E pictures look more lively and truer to life like whenever I fly into a major metropolitan. The iPhone 7+ pictures look gloomier.

I was at Best Buy today. From what I could tell Samsung's got a great advantage with nice wide angle selfie and rear cameras. Interestingly enough when it came to video, the iPhones I tested did a nice warm video under the harsh fluorescent lights. But for still photos the Samsung tended to give overall warmer tones without slipping too far into making anything pink or beige that should not have been.

LG G5 made a video with audio that sounded very good through the phones speakers. It seems to have the most sensitive mic of the ones I compared: Samsung G7 (used mine for testing) and iPhone 7 display model. Of course it's hard to tell without taking all of the videos and playing them back through the same sound system.

None of the cameras rendered color with awesome accuracy. It's so crazy how each camera gives its own rendition of "reality". The LG G5 on full auto gave a slight bluish cast, but does come with the ability to adjust white balance. The IPhone 7 and the Samsung G7 are each pleasing in their own way. It sounds cliche to say that but in playing around with them I realized so much will depend on learning how to get the most of whatever smart phone camera you have and whatever apps and setting you learn to manipulate.

A lot depends on who is taking the pictures. I was consistently able to take better photos than my brother and his wife. They both have S6 and i have 6S Plus.

Also colours are usually closer to what i'm seeing with my eyes.

It does appear more lively but the issue is that the yellow tone is far too over done. In a scene like this, the yellow tone isn't as detrimental but the S7E also tends to keep this tone in lowlight shots where people are present and that ruins the shot as the people begin to look terrible. It's one of the reasons why every shot I take with the S7E is in RAW as I simply can't trust the Auto mode to correctly analyze the scene not too mention the over sharpening it applies.

If we are to look at the iPhone and the S7E images as polar opposites in this case with a point in the middle being the correct representation of the scene, the "correct" point would actually be closer to the iPhone than it is to the S7E.

The S7 edge camera is miles ahead of the 7 plus.

The Note 7's battery issues will be solved shortly and it will still have a better camera than the iPhone 7.

Note 7 camera is the same as the Galaxy S7. Then it won't be better, because better is a fine line based on the type of picture and the lighting.

I read Samsung is focusing big time on image processing on the next exynos soc and will be up to 70% faster then the gs7.

not sure how much faster it can get lol because it's already stupid fast.

Threads are no longer about the topic in the OP, it's all about bashing Samsung and claiming "you had one" and returned it for an iPhone because they all blow up. Then having the usual suspects like your post. Lol

I came across this video on Youtube that offers a comparison between the Note 7 and the 7+ camera (SuperSaf)

He also did an iPhone 7 vs S7 camera comparison as well.

Picture quality aside, the microphone on Samsung's phones are insanely better. I wonder why that is. Telephoto lens doesn't have very good image stabilization (not that it was mentioned), but I suspect Apple is going to introduce that next year. Given the picture quality being more or less on par with each other, I'm looking forward to the S8's camera. Recent rumors do indicate that there is a possibility of dual cameras on the S8 (12 MP Samsung sensor + 13 MP Sony sensor; http://www.knowyourmobile.com/mobil...d-mwc-2017-launch-4k-oled-display-dual-camera).
