"Hey look folks.

A phone a month old is as fast as the Apple phone that is 8 months old!"

Really?

I love how people implore us to "trust them" like their post provides the defacto proof.

News flash

iPhone 4S = 8 months old
iOS 6 = additional speed in the OS (though it's beta right now)
The Galaxy Nexus is just as old and mine has received a significant performance boost thanks to Jellybean. :)

No, not as fast as the 4S. Faster. That's the whole point.

Today I went to try the new iPad and opening apps took twice as long as what can be seen on JB. This iPad is the newest tech from Apple, and it still takes add long to open apps as my first iPad. I think it has to do with the animations. Apple should speed up opening apps. On JB it's (almost) instant.

The animations are timed in iOS typically at 400ms. This is the target for developers to launch their apps and make them ready to go. They could shorten the animation and give the perception of the app is ready but there's a wide dynamic range of app launch times.

This isn't a race it's about user experience.

BS. We've got the latest in Android. Show the data. iOS is faster, scrolling is smoother. Nice try though.

LOL.

Jesus, what's going on with this place.

I just didn't get anything of what you said...

Anyway, like I previously said, I went today to try the new iPad mainly because I wanted to test if the apps opened faster than my iPad 1 and than JB. We already know it's super smooth so I didn't need to check that. I opened many apps and all of them took almost the same amount of time to open, which I could clearly tell it was more than JB.

I don't see big difference (if at all) between my iPad 1 and the new iPad in opening apps, and I'm sure it's not a hardware thing. You could put a quad core on the iPad and opening apps would take the same time as in the iPad 1. It's just the way iOS works with its animations and all.

Nice try though, but anyone with common sense would know this.

Yes, but a quad-core iPad would load the data in the app faster than the iPad 1 would, even know the app took the same time to launch on both.

I find the title of this not only condescending but also screaming for attention and confrontation.

It seems you want to dish it out, but you cant take it.

If you would have simply said, "Look how smooth and fast Android is!" It would have been fine, but adding in "its now the fastest iOS, and not iOS"... is childish, subjective and farfetched.

With a title like this, you are asking for Apple users to come in here and give their 2 cents, so please don't be upset that people have something to say.

You are after all, on an Apple forum, amigo. And I'm not saying you're not welcome..
