Seems the silliness of "Who is the father of the billionaire baby?" is really going to get out of hand -- seems everybody is going to claim to have slept with Anna Nicole.

Who's she?

Who cares?

Her death is a textbook case of natural selection in action.

Seriously, how is the life and times of ANS relevant to anything important? What has she done? Let's see... posed naked, became a gold-digger, got fat, got skinny, did a stupid low rated and short-lived reality show, sued for millions in inheritance, went to the supreme court, had a baby but doesn't know who the father is, and she sold (scammed) the public out of millions through the sale of Trimspa. Oh, and she died along the way. Does that about cover it? What a shame, boohoo (sarcasm). The only thing sadder than the passing of ANS, is the public fascination for someone who had an IQ less than 80 and no talent to support her fame. Now at least I have another reason to turn my television off until all of this mundane crap blows over.

I swear, the crap American public thinks is important is mind blowing.

Monroe....

Give me a break! You're probably not old enough to have lived when Monroe lived....so what do you know, other than what you've read, or gawked at.
To compare these two is AWFUL, IMHO!
There is NO comparison! No way! NO HOW!

Awwww. I liked Anna. She was a little quirky but that's ok. She was frickin HOT in her day. Way hotter than Monroe, imo. Monroe is more of an icon, but not really boner inspiring (to put it bluntly), unless you like old people stuff.

Ans

WOW - I couldn't have said it better!
I just love an excuse to keep the TV off....;)

The comparisons with Monroe just highlight the shallow nature of 'celebrity' these days. It's so depressing.

Thank you! It was covered more than the "war" in Iraq the past week on EVERY news channel in the states. Such a waste of breathe.

Good ol' CNN... :p

The thing is, I look at that image and I think "God, that's disgusting." And then I think "Well, that's what it is though."

If celebrity is simulation, Anna Nicole Smith led a life in which she had a simulated identity (celebrity) and a simulated relationship before starring in a "reality" show in which she simulated her reality of simulating reality. She was the joker in each of our courts, but it's easier to write her off than to examine how the misery she lived through is ours to own.

Fact is the woman's dead no matter how many times you see her on your TV tonight.

Its the same media that can't wait to see what Tom and Katie or Brad and Angelina are going to do next, but when it happens to Anna Nicole its, how dare the media report such rubbish. Talk about double standards.

All equally worthless in my opninion. That's why I don't watch the crap.

Reminds me of the Southpark episode with Paris Hilton where they sell a "my little whore" kit for all the little girls wishing to emulate the biggest waste of space on the planet. Also includes camera with night vision filter!

I'm sad for Nicole's baby who will never know her mother and brother. The child will grow up knowing about her mom but never knowing her mom. The child will wonder whether her caretakers really ever loved her and not for her money. It would be hard to have a normal childhood. If I had a pick who would be the baby's caretakers, I assume Nicole's biological parents would be best.

Frankly, the best thing that whoever raises the kid can do is never mention Anna Nicole Smith to them, at least not until they're well into adulthood. I normally don't advocate lying to kids like that, but in this case, I think it's acceptable.

Her child is better off anyways. If ANS raised her, she'd probably follow in her mother's footsteps and amount to nothing but a washed up, drug addicted Hollywood whore. Maybe now she can grow up and amount to something and do something positive with her life.

Yes....Yes.....and YES!

Nothing happens to us that we don't let happen to us. She had the choices to make and obviously chose the wrong ones..The only one I feel bad for is the child.F'd up order of priorities when this is dominating the news/headlines/talk shows....At least it took the astronaut story out of the headlines...

I disagree with that. I know a lot of people who have had tragedy in their lives that they did not "let happen to" them.

As far as ANS? I blame her handlers as much as her for her career (although "career" seems like the wrong term... maybe "series of mishaps"). I don't think she was vastly more screwed up than many, just more famously so. She wasn't a particularly intelligent person, and didn't make a lot of good choices, granted. However, I don't think the untimely death of her son and the likely post-partum depression on top of that were things she "let happen". I was never a fan of hers and often bothered by coverage of her antics... but I don't feel relieved that she died. She didn't "deserve" it.

Maybe I should have expanded..Someone doesn't choose to have PPD, cancer,AIDS thru a blood transfusion etc.Obviously nobody chooses a medical condition. Those things are out of one's control, and are not choices. But when it comes to drugs, who we choose as friends, how we choose to live our life, what we do with our own life, yeah those are all choices. And life is about making the right ones and wrong ones.Maybe I'm just a cold, heartless SOB.But for me,it's hard to feel sorry for somebody who had the means ($$$) to better themselves and get help and chose not to. And I am by no means saying that I am happy she passed..I do feel bad for the child tho. They always suffer the most..

Sorry, but I hear this too much, and too often those who make the "they made bad choices" argument are trying to absolve themselves of responsibility for the choices of that other person.

Ethics can't be dismissed so routinely.

To call her a gold digger is a little harsh, I think she loved the old dude, and I think he cared about her. I think he was a father figure that she never had and that is what she needed, someone to love her for her. Was is wise to get married, no. But I think he gave her support that no body else did. I do think he promised her his money and I think she deserved some of it. She probably loved the old man more then his own kids did. This is another story of small town stupid girl gets famous and doesn't know how to handle it. So everyone took advantage of her and she suffered.

Not trying to absolve myself of anything. We're all dealt a "hand of cards" life. What we choose to do with that hand, and how we play it, is up to the individual.

Somehow i don't believe one the formerly most attractive women back in the day had love for an 81 year old man. Perhaps she was fond of him, thought he was a nice person. Yet to completely disregard the financial boom she could get once he bit the dust is just a bit naive for me

Are you saying she lusted after something in his pants that didn't require Viagra to satisfy a woman?

I read that her "private nurse" found her and called for help and did CPR. She must have been in pretty poor health, people don't normally hire private nurses.

Normally I wouldn't have any sort of interest in this thing but my mom was at her house working for an Entertainment Tonight crew about a week before she died. She said that Anna was like a zombie and had to be walked out to her chair for the interview. She said it was amazing because as soon as she saw the camera she came alive. The creepiest thing though is Anna said she heard her dead son calling to her in the night.

Yeah, she loved him.I can think of a billion reasons why she loved him ;) Let's see... A former stripper/centerfold/Playmate falls "in love" with an 80 something billionaire with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel..Yeah that's true love.A real emotional, intellectual connection there.I wonder what they talked about....
