I believe you may have the stranglehold on insecurity issues. Referencing a poorly written review and including examples makes me insecure from a $200 cell phone? Get over it, your Droid will do well in the market and everyone will be better because of it. That still does not change the fact that the review was basically an ad for Verizon and open source software and never backed up the headline claim of an industry wide game changer.

Here is the problem you put up that it kills all your defense that you have no insecurity. from your first post "Numerous errors and obvious anti-Apple bias....."

The only hit on apple was legit and that was picking on apple piss poor app review/ rejection policies. Out side of that little part the iPhone and Apple were never talk about again.
I have I seen better reviews written about the phone yes. Have I seen worse reviews written about the iPhone that is full of so much apple Bais it beyond worthless yes.

The review contains numerous errors and an obvious anti-Apple bias. Don't know if it is the worse ever written, but it is what it is.

As for my insecurities, most are currently centered around strangers on internet forums who say I have insecurities.

And you have yet to figure out that you have them and why we are saying it.

1. You posted the part I quoted of your and apple/ iPhone only talked about once in the area were quite frankly Apple deserves the bad press on.

2. You post saying it is a another crappy review on the droid in an iPhone forum to try to prove that the iPhone is really better and rip in to it.

You have problems if that is how you are justifying the iPhone is so much better.

Who is we? Dude, get a grip with the first year lawyer cross examination stuff. I read it one way you read it another. If that makes you somehow insecure, I am sorry. Shall I submit my posts to you and the "we" for review before posting?

and you, of course, are not biased towards the iphone

Very well might be, but then again I don't write reviews for nationally published journals that suggest otherwise.

how is it disturbing? lost me there

Because it reads like a Verizon ad and contains errors and exclamations which do not back up the game changer pronunciations. Coming out of their "review labs" and with a huge headline how it is a game changer, it focused on speakerphones and features in many phones.

despite what one may think, this website is not an apple army to jump to apple's defense for any product or ad that competes against apple products

Agreed and you are doing an exemplary job in ensuring that meme is maintained.

when i read the words "back in the old days", i oddly felt like i was reading something from kdarling. Not bashing on you, you've just got a lot more experience than all of us..haha :D

Linux freetard argument. How come Linux doesn't have a higher market share than Apple even when Linux is free?
The same reason that Microsoft has a greater market share than Apple.

Note that Android parallels Linux
It doesn't parallel it, it is it.

where the hobbyists make software without design sense
Perhaps...But much of the UI stuff in Android is proprietary, it's all commercial, and none of it was created by hobbyists.

or refinement, testing required of commercial software.
Android is commercial. And proprietary software has much less testing and refinement. It has a tiny group of people who can actually review it, and things don't need to be done properly because nobody can see if they aren't.

But the most essentially components of OS X are open source anyway. They were created by hobbyists, and they're more free than Linux.

The predecessor article to the OP review on the Driod from one week earlier. Interesting spin on reality and how the Apple app environment drives the authors view as well as the follow up one being discussed here.

"If you want to boil the Droid down into a simple sentence to explain it to someone, then describing it as an iPhone without all of Apple’s restrictions would be pretty darn close and get your point across in any case."
....

In fact, if Apple had approved the Google Voice application for their iPhone network, something users really wanted but Apple was afraid to give them, then Google might not have purchased the Android OS that makes the Droid phone possible

Huh?

they hit the nail on the head with this tid-bit:

Although Verizon has the best network, they seem to have been focused on the worst, most boring phones in the business.

The problem with having so many "game changing" new handsets (e.g. there might be 50 in 2010) - Every other week, your handset you have becomes old-news, reduced in price, discounted, old hat, and a smaller chunk of the market for that OS.
Better screen, in some ways better carrier network coverage, a physical keyboard, and a new outlook.

Any takers on when the Droid killer on Android comes out? :)

That's not a review, That's an advertisement which includes mostly what the Droid can do(which almost every other smartphone is capable of). It starts off like a real review with undertoned ATT network bashing, but the rest of the pages were basically focused on what the Droid can do. This article is not worth taking seriously.
