I guess it depends on the airline. British Airways still wants Bluetooth off for taxi, takeoff and landing.

Your comment is spot on. Even if just one airline still required Bluetooth to be disabled, it makes sense for phone makers to still have Airplane mode disable it as well.

IDD. Different strokes for different folks and Apple have just erred on the side of caution.
