OK, I think I have read about this before, but I'm still amazed at the EASE of getting a product repaired\replaced by Apple when there is a warranty issue.

Just had to post about the pleasant experience I had at my local Apple store when my ring\vibrate switch "fell off". OK, first off, yeah, it kind of annoyed me that a button could fall this easily off of my, at the time, $300 3G iPhone. That aside, I called my local Apple store, made an appt., showed up, they looked at the phone, and basically replaced it, no questions asked, within about 10 minutes. Yes, I have Apple Care on it, but still. This level of service is why I keep coming back to Apple, year after year, product after product.

Gotta love it. And a big kudos to the Lehigh Valley Apple store employees for always making shopping, or purchasing, a very pleasant experience!

I was in that store a few times, small world!
I live in Tower City.
Glad to hear they took such good care of you.

In general, overpriced products/services tend to have better customer care. They can afford to replace their products with no hassle because the cost has already been covered by their high margin of profit. :D

Yeah, Applecare is just great, see:

Honestly OP, did you really have to make a new thread to kiss ass? Toshiba went out of their way to provide in home service (at their expense) to fix my LCD TV that was 4 years out of warranty. Honestly whats your point with this thread?

I tried the iMac a couple of years ago. I liked it, but felt "crippled" when it came to actually using it. It did not work well with the business side of things (windows) and software was not readily available. Some things just did not work the same as on a windows machine. I also despised the top apple bar thing. Whatever it's called. I hated that with a passion. I still do. If that was gone, I would switch back instantly. Alas, I think it will stay there forever sadly. Windows on a mac really isn't the same.

I like my pc and enjoy it. Easy and simple to use. Each have their pros and cons. If they could meld them all together and create a SUPERB os, that would be sweet.

Maybe when the iMac's get blu-ray I will try again. That's another thing that bugs me. These brand new machines out by Apple and no blu-ray :( What a wasted screen.

The point of this thread? I don't know, what's the point of 99% of the threads spread across thousands of message boards on the web? How about to discuss things, good, bad, ugly, whatever?

Sounds like you are a bit uptight about something. Either that our your simply a standard immature forum troll who happens to enjoy pictures of rather out of shape men in tight red leotards.

I feel sorry for you.

So I'm stupid using Windows, but having an iPhone? :p

So what's your stand? It isn't stupid to use Windows. It's a matter of personal preference. If you like Windows, that's you prerogative. We are here on Macrumors because we PREFER Macs to Windows.

The iMac I purchased from Amazon arrived with a bad optical drive. I had a replacement model within 24 hours. :)

I've actually gotten lucky and had them swap out a phone for me when my warranty expired 3 days earlier. Kudos to Apple.

It fell apart and they fixed it under warranty. That qualifies as excellent customer service where you come from? Rofl... this world must be going down the drain FAST.

This forum just filled with idiots lately or what? Seriously, what's your problem? Oh, lemme guess, your probably a 12 year old tough guy who never really has anything nice to say about anything or anyone.

For reference, yeah, I do think it is excellent customer service. I've spent a hell of a lot more on FAR more expensive products that have gone belly up, and been given the run around on just getting things repaired, let alone replaced.

The fact that the unit was replaced, no questions asked, in a polite and professional manner DOES qualify as excellent customer service.

Now, go back to your miserable excuse for a life, and attempt to do something nice for someone.

That's why I love Apple. I remember before I started buying electronics from apple, I'd sit on the phone with Dell for hours.

The menu bar is one of your reasons for not sticking with a Mac?. That is a poor reason, but hey - your choice.

Really? I'm not much an Apple guy I just love my iPhone. But when I had to get one replaced the guy was a total dick and made me want to get rid of all my iPods/iPhone. Hopefully my 3Gs won't need to be replaced.

The problem isn't with the people in the forums - it's you. This thread is hands down the dumbest one on the page.

It's nice to read about good experiences on these forums. I've never had a bad customer experience with Apple or the Apple Store, but if you were to base it off these forums you would think Apple had the worst customer support imaginable.

I was ok with it until people like you came in.

Well I have a iPhone but use Windows computers. I have been thinking about buying a Apple laptop though.

I'm in the same boat. I've been kicking myself since three years ago because I decided to buy a Dell instead of a Mac because the Dell came with Windows (which I need for school)! Turns out that I got a free MSDNAA subscription when I came to school, which means that I should have bought a Mac. :(
