any android app thats similar to zephyr?

does anybody know of a zephyr alternative in android? i miss swiping up from bottom of the screen to bring up the app switcher...long press on home button does that right now on my note 2 but i'm wondering if there's anything for a bottom swipe.

Are you rooted? LMT launcher has edge controls. I think it also has configurable gestures. It may have what you want. It needs root though.

There's a free app that's a little similar called swipe pad that will allow you to swipe from any edge of the phone to bring up a list of pre selected apps.

For a $1 add on, you can purchase an app called Dynamic pads that will give you the option to swipe and select recent used apps and recently contacted.

I use SwipePad on my HTC One and love it, have the bottom edge of the screen set up to launch it, can get pretty much anything I need.

I used to use SwipePad too but just realized that hitting the home button was just faster. Still, an awesome awesome app.

Zephry is easily the best thing about jailbreaking iOS.

Yeah, I mostly use it to launch frequently used apps, lets me keep my home screen less cluttered, don't really use the bottom row of shortcuts in my SwipePad launcher much. I use Nova Prime as my main launcher but like using Blingfeed so the HTC Sense shortcut in the top corner is handy--set up the Sense launcher with only Blinkfeed as my only home screen so going to Sense automatically opens Blinkfeed. Nova Prime also supports gestures (on the home screens only) so I make use of those as well.

Gotta love the nearly endless ways you can configure an Android device.

It also helps that HTC conveniently left the center "HTC" logo vacant, too. Perfect location to swipe up from.

You don't need root. You don't have to modify anything. Just download Nova Launcher and you can do all sorts of gestures. See image below.

But only from the home screen.

Zephyr is universal, no matter where you are, you can swipe up to go back home. Imagine the pull down notification -- you can always pull down anywhere you are to see notifications. It's the same with Zephyr only from the bottom and it takes you to the home screen.

I can't stress to you guys how much this app rocks. It's very reliable. You can swipe up to go home from anywhere, anytime, any app. Just like Zephyr.

It works! You just have to install an app that turns the screen off (I use screen off and lock. Its free) and tie it to one of the custom gestures. It works perfectly.

So now I gesture up from my blank HTC logo to go home, gesture left to pull down notifications, gesture right for recent apps, and gesture up and down to shut the screen off.

Amazing.

If you don't like the permanent notification of the app go to the settings page of the app via info in Android and select "don't show notifications from this app".

Yup! Or just long press the Swipe Home notification from the notification pull down, hit APP INFO, and then uncheck "Show Notifications". Same thing basically.

Anyway, it's an awesome app. I think it works even better than Zephyr cause you can add more than just one gesture. It also doesn't require any jailbreak/root, and is cheaper (Zephyr was $4.99, I believe). Swipe Home is 99 cents after a free 7 day trial.

I can't tell you how awesome it is to sleep my device with a gesture up-down motion. It's so small, too. You don't have to gesture largely, so to speak. Just a slight up-down from the HTC logo is all it needs. Device is asleep.

Wonderful feeling. This app is especially awesome for the One.

Nope but would be pretty hard to gesture in a game. The first movement has to come from off the screen.

I never used zephyr when I had an iPhone but did have Activator installed and controlled my gestures with that app. Swipe up from the bottom center of the screen took me home and swipe up from the bottom left or bottom right opened up the app switcher.

Will take a look at Swipe Home. Trying to see whether it's worth swapping out my SwipePad gesture at the bottom of the screen for this instead. The nice thing about SwipePad is you can swipe in from any of the four corners of your screen as well as the sides and bottom giving you plenty of options to customize and set up as you please.

Edit: Swipe Home looks like a keeper. The swipe up gesture is a lot quicker and smoother than having to swipe and select an app (home button) compared to SwipePad. Looks like I'll be using both. SwipePad for gestures using the four corners and Swipe Home for the bottom of the screen.

I've got a similar setup. I've also added swipe left down to open S-Voice, swipe right down to open Google Voice Search, and swipe far up to open Google Now.

Definitely a must have app. Guy should be charging more for it.

I traded SwipePad for Swipe Home Button and Swapps, very slick though I do see a bit of lag with apps opening from the swipe left or right and down.

Couch, just curious, why do you find he swipe left or right gestures awkward when they are just half of the swipe left or right and down motion that you're using? If anything, I find those motions a little awkward.
